More On the Streamlight TLR-7 Sub

Streamlight's TLR-7 was the first of its kind, offering small size without sacrificing power. The TLR-7 was created specifically for the compact pistol market, where it sits flush with the frame of firearms such as the Glock 19 or CZ P-10C. The TLR-7's success led to Streamlight's creation of other lights like the TLR RM 1 and RM 2, TLR-10, TLR-9, and now the TLR-7 Sub.

The TLR-7 Sub is designed for subcompact firearms, which are increasingly equipped with rails. Previously, subcompact weapon lights were weak, with the TLR-6 being the most popular option, but it only packed a mere 100 lumens of light and a laser. The TLR-7 Sub changes that by packing 500 lumens and 5,000 candela of power, all in a light that is under 3 ounces and 2.51 inches long.

The TLR-7 Sub utilizes the new TLR 7 switches, which are very responsive and tactile, making it easy to switch between the constant, momentary, and user-programmable strobe modes. The TLR-7 Sub is also compatible with a broad range of rails, making it easy to mount.

Despite its small size, the TLR-7 Sub is impressively powerful and ideal for both inside and outside use. While it may not be as powerful as full-sized WMLs, it still offers a bright and powerful beam, perfect for positive identification inside buildings.

Overall, the TLR-7 Sub is an impressive subcompact light that offers a lot of power for its small size, making it a great value for anyone in the market for a high-quality and affordable light for their subcompact firearm.

    Fit great, very bright!

This light is perfect for the 365xl and is very bright for its size. It's worth noting that most holsters that accommodate a weapon light cannot completely cover the trigger due to the light being wider than the trigger guard. Because of this, I am no longer using the light, but I still think it is a good product.

I use this light on my carry gun and it has been a game changer. It is super easy to mount and one of the most convenient, easy to use lights I have encountered. I highly recommend it! I am grateful that my father told me about this light. He also uses it on the same gun and loves it.

    Glock 43x mos lumens

This light has excellent output, and I use it on my off-duty carry firearm when I work in law enforcement. Initially, I wanted the flush TLR-6, but the TLR-7 sub had 5 times the lumens, making it a much better option. I hope I never have to use it in a real-life situation, but the buttons on both sides work well and feel natural. The installation process was easy. I have yet to have it long enough to speak to the battery life, but I understand it lasts for about a year or two, which is excellent. I looked at Tier One and Trex Arms holsters and ultimately decided on a Vedder without the extra magazine. So far, I am happy with this setup. The light pairs well with the Shield RMSC red dot for which Glock designed the 43x MOS gun. As far as red dots go, it mounts perfectly without the need to order a plate or make any modifications.

    Awesome Light

I recently ordered the Streamlight TLR-7 sub for my P365X and am extremely happy with it. It is high-quality, easy to change the battery, and extremely bright. Initially, I was going to purchase the TLR-6 because I didn't want a light that extended beyond the muzzle of my firearm. However, I decided to spend a little extra on the TLR-7 sub. It is worth the extra money due to its superior build quality, brightness, and durability.

    Best Light for Sig 365XL

The Streamlight TLR-7 Sub is an excellent light option for the 365XL. There are a few options available, but this one is the best. It holds zero, has good battery life, and looks attractive. It is also high quality and reasonably priced, considering what you get. I highly recommend checking it out.

    Great pistol flashlight

I bought this light to mount on my Walther PDP, which fits and functions perfectly. The price was reasonable as well. I really like the strobe feature on Streamlight products. This light fits nicely in my Dara LV3 holster. Streamlight products should be recommended to anyone in need of a reliable light for their rifle or pistol.

If space is too tight to mount a regular TLR-7 this might fit.

I appreciate the low profile of this light. I want a version of the regular TLR-7 with a similar design. I expected this light to have a similar key system to the other TLR-7 lights, but it is set up differently, and the keys are not interchangeable. This means that it will not be able to fit most non-subcompact pistols. Essentially, this light is just a TLR-7 with a different appearance and a slightly modified clamping screw that allows it to be used on smaller pistols.

    Perfect 365 light

I really enjoy using the Streamlight TLR-7 Sub on my P365. It has 500 lumens, which is excellent. I considered the Surefire XSC, but it is overpriced at $300, and it doesn't look as good (in my opinion). I don't use the term "overpriced" often, but I think $200 would be a fair price. The Streamlight sticks out a bit, so I ordered an extended threaded barrel, which looks fantastic. It's bright, and the controls are easy to use.

    First Legit Weapons Light

This is my first experience with a real weapons light, so I am still getting used to the location of the switches and how to draw with them attached. So far, the brightness seems to be good. I am interested in seeing how long the battery lasts. If you are considering purchasing a weapons light, I recommend investing in a good one like this rather than a cheap option.

    Great Light

I have a 365xl and this light fits well on it. The on/off switch and the double tap for the strobe function work well from either side of the weapon. The intensity of the light is strong enough to blind a target and the strobe function can be disorienting.

    Streamlight on all my pistols

    Location:
    Date: January 5, 2023

I have the Streamlight TLR7 or TLR7-subs on all of my handguns because they offer excellent value for their price. They fit almost flush on most compact guns with a 4" barrel. The battery life is satisfactory, and the 500 lumens provide a good balance of flood and beam for practical pistol distances (less than 25 yards). It might be weak at 25 yards, but it is sufficient for lengths under 15 yards. The size is ideal for carrying on a handgun.
