Better Than Competitors, But Could Use Improvement.

I've tried out several different models of lights from different manufacturers, and so far, the TLR-7 Sub (along with the TLR-7A) has outperformed the others in most areas. One of the standout features of these lights is their brightness, which is excellent for a single CR 123 battery. While they have half the lumens of larger models and some of the competition (such as the Surefire X300U-A), they also use half the batteries, making them on par in terms of brightness. Another advantage of the TLR-7 Sub and TLR-7A is their ambidextrous buttons, which are easy to push and accessible for my weak-hand thumb in both active and passive grips. The controls are also great - you can hold the button down for as long as you want the light on or tap it to stay on, and there's an optional double-tap of a button to activate the strobe. The shorter length of these lights compared to some competitors' models makes them more compact and ideal for carrying, as they don't stick out as much. Another nice feature is the ability to deactivate the light by turning the front bezel a quarter turn. And the price seems to be at least on par, if not better, than a lot of the competition, especially considering the quality. One of the most significant advantages of the TLR-7 Sub and TLR-7A is the ability to change the battery from the front rather than the rear, as with some competitors' models - this makes it much easier since you don't have to remove the light every time. The downside I've noticed with these lights is that they require tools to mount - you can't just clip them onto the Picatinny rail but have to slide them on and then screw them down. This can be a bit more laborious than with some other models. Additionally, the screw has an arc to its depth, which makes it challenging to work with a screwdriver - you need a thicker coin like a nickel or quarter. These coins don't fit perfectly, so the insert on the screw starts getting worn away. If you swap these lights between pistols often, the screw will likely become unusable. In my opinion, it would have been better to have a mount for a Picatinny rail (which is present on most modern pistols) or, at the very least, a mounting screw with a flat indentation instead of an arc so that it works with screwdrivers. Overall, I think the TLR-7 Sub and TLR-7A are excellent choices and better than most of the competition.

I'm really happy with the Streamlight TLR-7 Sub for my P365 500Lm. I considered the Surefire XSC with its 350lm, but I found it to be overpriced at $300. In my opinion, $200 would be a fair price. I also didn't particularly like the way it looked. The Streamlight TLR-7, on the other hand, looks great, and it's easy to use with its convenient controls. The only issue I had was that it stuck out a bit too much, so I ordered an extended threaded barrel to go with it. Now it looks awesome and is very bright. I'm really happy with it.

    TLR7 sub - p365XL light

The newest TLR sub is excellent. It was easy to put on, and it feels sturdy on my XL. The buttons are a push-down to activate, and are in a L shape; they’re not bad. It gives off a good light output to really brighten a room or hallway at night. I’m happy with it and think it’s the best option for a p365.

Works perfectly on the Sig P365xl. The end of the light stick out slightly past the end of the slide. This could help not accidentally push the gun out of the battery. I do not regret my purchase, and the light is plenty bright for most uses, in my opinion.

I ordered the Streamlight TLR-7 sub for my P365XL and couldn’t be happier with it. High quality, very easy to change the battery, and super bright. I was going to purchase the TLR-6, not wanting a light that would stick out past the muzzle. Very happy I decided to go with the TLR-7 sub instead, well worth the extra money for the build quality, brightness, and durability.

I purchased the light for my Sig P365. The light is excellent, it’s very bright and has a fairly small footprint. Great quality from Streamlight. This is the 2nd Streamlight I have, and they both are awesome.

I prefer this over sig lights or other lights after you do a conversion mount for installation. Understand this is a longer light, especially if you put this on a 365 vs xl. However, it does not affect the carry even though it's longer. At the moment holster compatibility is limited, but there are decent ones out there. It's just the waiting time that's a hassle; I'm sure it'll be better in the future.

For a smaller light, it is bright. It's basically a slimmed-down version of the TLR-7a. I use it on a Sig P365XL, and it works very well. Overall, I'm thrilled with the light. I have used Streamlight for years, and they are always high quality.

A powerful light, compact, great fit, and looks great. Fits the Sig P365XL perfectly, like a glove! I hate when gun lights extend out past the barrel of the gun, this one is almost flush.
