More on the TLR 7 Sub Hellcat

Streamlight is a well-known name in the world of tactical lights, offering a wide range of options for every need, from weapon-mounted lights to everyday carry flashlights. With the rise of micro-compact pistols like the Hellcat in recent years, the need for a small yet powerful light to mount on these guns has become increasingly important. To answer this need, Streamlight has introduced the TLR-7 Sub, a weapon-mounted light that is small enough to fit on the compact rail sections of pistols like the Hellcat while still providing a powerful 500-lumen output.

Understanding the different technical aspects of lights, such as lumens, candela, kelvin, spill, and throw, is important when choosing a light for its intended purpose. Lumens refer to the raw horsepower of the LED diode, while candela measures the intensity of the beam at its brightest point. Spill and throw describe the width and distance of the beam, respectively, while kelvin refers to the color of the light on a numerical scale.

Overall, the TLR-7 Sub is an excellent option for those looking for a compact, powerful weapon-mounted light for their micro-compact pistols like the Hellcat. Its rugged aluminum body and IPX-7 waterproof rating make it a durable and reliable choice for any situation.

    Worked for Hellcat as is

I came across another listing similar to this and was unsure which one would work with the Hellcat. However, this particular listing did the job perfectly, and I even included a photo of the package for reference. The package didn't come with any additional parts, but it was a straightforward process of loosening, slipping it onto the Hellcat, tightening it, and it was ready to go. I tested the light in various dark areas of my house, and it provided excellent illumination. Although I had a bit of trouble activating the strobe feature (9 taps, hold the 10th), I persevered and eventually managed to activate it. Once activated, it was a simple matter of turning it on when needed.

Not an exact fit for Hellcat Pro unless...

After purchasing this compact WML for my Hellcat Pro, I discovered that it didn't sit as far back as I anticipated, leaving a noticeable gap between the light and the trigger guard. However, I stumbled upon a helpful video from Werkz holsters that clarified the issue. It turns out that the Hellcat Pro has been slightly redesigned to different specifications than previous Hellcat models. Fortunately, the solution is as simple as contacting the manufacturer and requesting a #5 key set and 1913 clamp. Once I obtained the appropriate components, the light fit perfectly, and I even ordered a Werkz holster that fits like a glove with this setup.

The light fits perfectly on the regular Hellcat and provides an impressively bright illumination. I've fired about 200 rounds with the light mounted, and it hasn't become loose, which is a testament to its sturdiness. While 200 rounds may not seem like a lot, it's enough to loosen a poorly designed mount. Overall, I'm thrilled with this light and think Streamlight produces the best lights in the business.

Hellcat Pro needs the 1913 short rail version, not the Hellcat version - otherwise fab!

I am leaving a review on the SA Hellcat version of the TLR7 sub, but unfortunately, it is not the appropriate fit for the Hellcat Pro. For the Pro, the 1913 short rail version is required. However, Streamlight was kind enough to provide me with the proper mounting key for free so that I could use it on my Hellcat Pro. I want to clarify that the Hellcat key will fit the Hellcat Pro, but it is mounted too high on the rail, which affects the fit of the weapon in custom holsters and prevents it from being flush against the trigger guard. Most holster makers use the TLR7 sub with the 1913 mount to fit the holster, so the weapon may not fit perfectly with the Hellcat key. Despite the fitment issue, the light performs exceptionally well, is compact, and extremely bright. As a law enforcement officer, it is crucial to have a light to identify targets before taking action. It's never wise to aim at something without knowing what it is. Always follow the fundamental rules of shooting, and this product enables you to do so.

This weapon-mounted light is a perfect fit for the Springfield Armory Hellcat OSP and features an ambidextrous switch that is suitable for both right and left-handed shooters. With a powerful 500-lumen beam, it can blind your target while also providing excellent illumination for a clear sight picture. I was so impressed with this light that I bought a second one before purchasing my second Hellcat firearm. Overall, I highly recommend this light for anyone needing a reliable and robust weapon-mounted light.

I am delighted with my purchase of the TLR 7 subcompact weapon-mounted light. This light is an excellent choice for Hellcat and other firearms and provides a bright beam. It is a must-have for concealed carry or home protection, as well as for night drills at the shooting range. Overall, I highly recommend the TLR 7 for anyone in need of a reliable and robust weapon-mounted light.

Not an exact fit for Hellcat Pro unless.

I recently purchased a compact weapon-mounted light (WML) for my Hellcat Pro but was disappointed that it sat further forward on the firearm than expected, leaving a gap between the light and the trigger guard. However, upon further research, I learned that the Hellcat Pro was redesigned with slightly different specifications than other Hellcat models. To fix this issue, I contacted the manufacturer and requested a #5 key set and 1913 clamp, which allowed the light to be seated perfectly on my Hellcat Pro. I was so pleased with the result that I even ordered a holster from Werkz designed explicitly for this setup, which fits my firearm perfectly.
