There are two great professional tac lights that you can consider. This is one of them, and it costs $70+ bucks. The other is a Surefire X300 for about $200. The Surefire has slightly higher lumens and is an excellent product. No doubt. Check the reviews. However, if you're looking basically for the same animal, this is more than sufficient. I like it because of the low profile, and on my M&P45 it's perfect. At night in the house, the light is more than enough. I'm a homeowner, not a law officer, and the use of both these models by professionals is good enough for me. Like the Surefire, this TLR-3 has a switch that allows you to do a quick on/off or on only. I realized I don't want to carry a flashlight if I need to move through the dark. I want it all at my fingertips, and I want to be able to illuminate as needed and walk in the darkness if necessary. After seeing it and trying it, I think this is a high-quality unit that is shallow profile and easy to operate.

I'm a full-time cop in one of the country's most violent cities. This is a great tactical weapon light. It's lightweight, durable, easy to use, and has just the right brightness. It's not too bright to blind you with reflections in close quarters and not too dim to not provide visibility in the dark. It has an Ambi switch that allows momentary on or fixed on options. And it's simple to operate. I have several TLR1s and a Surefire X300. I figured I would try this for the price, and it's lightweight. I'm impressed. I'd buy again and recommend to fellow cops, military, or even the tactical couch operator defending the homestead.

Extremely bright, natural to attach, and stable firearm light. I thought that with the price & size that I was going to get a firearm light that may not be all that bright, and might be too small for my M&P 9. I figured it would be "good enough," but not great. I was wrong. This light is fantastic. The Streamlight tlr-3 light attached with no problem (less than 5 minutes installation), fits perfectly on the M&P without protruding beyond the muzzle and kicks off an insanely bright light. I'd say it's effective beyond 25 yards, and blinding within 10. It puts off a wide dispersion of light that quickly fills a side of a standard room in a house. It would also be great for outdoors patrolling or investigating noises. They are two activation features: simply pressing lightly on the lever behind the light turns it on until you release the lever. Pressing down on the lever switches the light on and it stays on after you remove your finger unless you switch it back off. Easy to access with your index and fits snug just outside the trigger guard on the M&P. I'll be buying more for sure.

They flood a room with more than enough light to positively identify friend or foe. It is also built tough. Before I bought the Streamlight tlr-3 , I read some reviews about it breaking, and not being durable. I'm sorry, they have been dropped, hit, and installed on every training exercise I've done. Oh! And the main reason I wanted it. It's small, and mates well with Glock finish. Personally, I feel it's a perfect addition for CCW, and for those things that go bump in the night. And ready if (God forbid) you have to go "bang" in the night.

I purchased the Streamlight TLR-3 for a gun club low light shoot. After fitting it to my Glock, my wife insisted I order one for her Glock as well. Very easy to use and install. Much brighter then I expected. Thanks for great tactical light.

I have the Streamlight for 3 installed on my Walther .40 PPS. It used the A key (enclosed), and it's brighter than my duty flashlight. It extends about an inch past barrel, looks good, fits great. Excellent product.

Purchased my first Streamlight TLR-3 from Wal-Mart 3 years ago for my S&W M&P Full Size 22 for $76 and change. Works great and decided to purchase two more for my two S&W M&P Compact 22s' for under $64 each.
