Customer Ratings & Reviews
Had this vortex 8x36 monocular for a while now. Never hit the woods without it. Perfect for picking the old guys from the young bucks without having to shoulder your rifle. Also an excellent piece for when you find yourself in the cheap seats! Impressive clarity on early mornings and late evenings. And the perfect weight and size. I use the lanyard and zip it up in my jacket. You forget it’s there till you need it.
Great for packing
I bought the 8x36 Solo to take on an elk hunt in Colorado this past fall. I have glaucoma in one eye, and it makes it a little difficult to see in binocular vision as you get with regular binos. The Solo was very lovely to wear during the nine-day trip. I had the Solo on the lanyard around my neck and then clipped to my jacket. With the Solo, you never have to mess with the eye spacing, and it is…
This optic was the newest addition to the coyote hunting equipment. Boy, was everyone mad that I was calling out all the movement. Even while moving in a vehicle this optic made it easy to find targets. It bounced around many times on the dash without showing any signs of damage or reduction in image quality.
Not much to improve
I’ve had this mono for a couple of months now. It’s great for spotting shots, identifying targets on a stalk or for nature walks. There is not much I’d improve on!
Hunter's best friend
This is a very sharp picture ultra-compact monocular (less than 5 inches long) to scout terrain while hunting instead of lifting a long-loaded rifle in the forest. The 8X magnification allows you a vast field of view up to medium ranges or when vegetation is dense. It has a built in utility clip to keep it handy or carrying a pouch for protection and storage. A must-have for hunters. Money well spent.
Light, rugged, and easily packs
I bought this Solo monocular for my son who is just starting with his hunting experiences. Light, rugged, and easily packs into his smaller backpack. This is perfect for the shorter ranges when hunting in dense areas.
Good monocular for the money
Clear and easy to use with a reasonably compact body. I dropped it on some rocks, and it was fine, so it seems to be durable. The focus ring is a little stiff, but hopefully, it will loosen up with use. One thing I’ll warn you about is the lanyard - it’s a cheap generic lanyard, and it broke (hence the dropping on the rocks).
Ok for ya buck
This monocular isn’t too bad for the price but you can similar for less. Also, line of sight is more like 500m rather than 1000m.
vortex solo monocular 8x36
Vortex 8x36 is excellent—clear view from edge to edge. Power to the field of view is perfect. I bought a Vortex rifle scope based on my positive impression.
Vortex Solo 8x36 monocular
I travel a lot on a motorcycle, and Vortex Solo 8 x 36 is ideal for traveling! Good rubber protection and waterproof! Compact and light! I recommend! Many thanks Vortex!
Super for birding
I love my vortex solo 8x36. I've had other monoculars, but they were close to useless for birding. This works so well and is easy to slip into a pocket or pack when you don't want to bring bigger binoculars.
vortex solo 8x36 monocular review
As a true Scotsman, it took me some time to buy a monocular. The Vortex solo was my pick. Lightweight, solid construction, and high-quality lenses all in a tiny unit. You will instantly see and feel the quality of this small mono when you look through the lenses. Great unit for bow or rifle hunting or just at the range and hiking
