Vortex Viper Red Dot Sight
The Viper Red Dot's super-low mounting height makes it the perfect solution for handguns with cutout slides. The Viper gives shooters the simplicity and speed advantage of a dot sight, while co-witnessing with suppressor height iron sights. The trade-off? Nothing. The 6 MOA dot diameter gets shooters on target fast.
Fully multi-coated, ultra-clear lens offers a broad, unobstructed field of view. The left-side up/down power and illumination controls are easy to access and manipulate. Recessed 1 MOA windage and elevation adjustments are super clean, protected from incidental contact, and always at the ready. It runs on a CR 2032 battery.
The Viper comes with a Picatinny mount—weighs 2.1 ounces with mount.

Customer Ratings & Reviews
Buy again? Possiby, but this was a second purchase.
First purchased the vortex viper red dot for Glock 41, which added 10 yards to effective range and significantly tightened pattern — bought the second one for Glock 40. Mounted sight and went to bore sight, windage screw would turn but no adjustment. E-mailed Vortex, and got a quick response from Graham with a return label. One week later, it's back on the range. I own several optics from Vortex; they produce some of the best glass I've ever put my eye behind. And their service department is super, fast, friendly and efficient.
This product is awesome,I would buy this product again
I installed my viper red dot on a MarkIV Ruger, and my eyes have thanked me ever since. Super EZ to mount and sight in.I have been impressed with the way it has stayed put and remained sighted in.I really like this technology that replaces iron sights and aids in old eyes
Awesome red dot sight
Awesome sight. I own the VVortex Venom red dot also and I like the vortex viper better, cleaner lines no exposed screws for the mount. I mounted this on a Volquartsen Scorpion .22 pistol and it was dead on at 50 yrds right out of the box, I was shocked. able to hit 2" steels at 50 yards with zero adjustments made from the factory settings. AWESOME SIGHT. Bright dot easier buttons than the Venom.
Good Optic, one possible flaw
I like this vortex viper red dot optic very much, but the only flaw I have is the fact the battery compartment is on the bottom. So when you have to change the battery, you have to take the sight off the mount and risk the possibility of losing zero when reattached. That said, this sight is splendid and easy to zero.
Great red dot easy to use
I installed this Vortex red dot viper on a Walther PPQ Q5 match. There was very little trouble getting it to mount with the proper screws. I took it to the club and sighted it in at 40 yards. It is well made and an excellent viewfinder. I love the six moa it is bright and clear and straightforward to acquire the follow-up shots. I would suggest buying a brand new battery to start with. The problem some ppl are having is using the battery supplied, which might have been sitting around for years. A friend loved it so much he bought one.
Better than RMR
I ordered this when announced and could not get one, so I settled for a Burris Fastfire 3. I also own an RMR red dot. As soon as MSP showed available, I ordered the vortex viper. Well worth the wait and priced right. I could buy 3 for the price of the Trijicon RMR. I now have 2 one on a S&W 625jm and use the Picatinny mount. It works flawlessly. The other is on a Glock dos 41 and mounts directly to the slide. It is nice that you get everything with the vortex viper. The only complaint is that you must remove the sight to replace the battery, but that is no big deal. The six moa dot is good for accuracy and picking up the dot. You cannot go wrong buying this sight. Vortex is a great company.
Good quality red dot sight
I got the vortex viper red dot sight yesterday and mounted it. I took it to the range today and with eight rounds, I had it zeroed. Cycled 70 more rounds through my target pistol and it functioned great. I found you have to press quite firmly on the brightness controls and the on/off control to change them. You have to feel the "click" to change settings. That's the only reason it got 4 stars instead of 5. Overall good optic so far.
Vortex Optics Viper red dot on my Glock 21
I mounted this Vortex Viper red dot sight on my Glock 21 Gen, using an Outerimpact rear sight adapter. (Mounting and installation was very easy) After a few shots to zero the sight, I was hitting eight-inch steel plates at 25 yds with almost every shot. The Viper is well worth the price, especially for old eyes folks. It may not be the best choice for driving nails at 50 yds, but for steel plates, at 25 yds, it may be the most fun you can have at the range. Try it, you will like it!
My vortex viper red dot review
For an old iron sight guy, I was initially skeptical of this red dot "stuff." However, I was amazed at how much it improved my ability. The good: 1. Groups from sandbags dropped from 6" at 25 yds to < 3". 2. Tremendous help in shot follow through and trigger squeeze. 3. Very compact and fits well on S&W 619-6 4". 4. Superior to iron sights for shooters with failing or poor eyesight. The maybe not so good: 1. Zero will change when lock screws tightened. 2. Takes a bit of practice for novices to "find" the red dot. 3. I hope the battery lasts a very long time since sight removal is required to change it.
I am extremely happy with product the vortex viper red dot
This reflex sight is perfect for target shooting with its three moa dot. I initially had trouble with the mos mounting system but called Vortex and immediately got the solution and screws necessary shipped to me free of charge. Great company. The Vortex Viper Red Dot controls are easy to use, and everything is accessible without dismounting the sight. So impressed, I just ordered a Venom for plate shooting.
