Best deal on a Vortex UH-1 for Sale is @ MSP
People should do their research and understand precisely what a holographic sight is. Obviously, it differs from a reflex sight. Ignorance is a lame reason for a subpar review. The reticle is well defined, the sight picture is large, and the glass is crystal clear. While I own a variety of other optics (Trijicon, Leupold, Sig, Holosun), this is my first Vortex, and I'm very pleased with the quality of construction and fit. If you don't require NV in a red dot and aren't intimidated by the size and weight, this is an excellent choice.
Firstly, this is a sight made on the baseline of self defense/active force on force for theoretically what is the fastest ideological behavioral response time currently in any CQB sight based on the perspective of the creators. That said, upon personal use, I can say the speed at which the reticle lines up with your eye and the perfection in the control of the sight signature and how it lines up on general rifle rail platforms is simply amazing. I love this and highly recommend it. As for those who value style, well you'll prob be the only person ppl wonder what kinda space weapon looking sight is that? That said, it is foreign to the common person so far I believe. For those that are wondering whether they should buy this or it's competitors, well ig it's really personal preference, competitor sights generally take up less space and gives less weight to your gun by just a little but this thing is like looking thru 4k compared to competitors. Also it costs less than most at $500 currently. There is one special feature to this sight tho that makes it super special compared to others though.. The triangle delta at the bottom for very close range shot placement assistance.
Vortex delivers another gem!
This is not your mom’s holographic sight. Love the site picture of the Vortex uh1, and it was straightforward to sight in. So far, I have loved shooting with this sight. With the Vortex warranty and customer service, this is the way to go!
Vortex UH 1 is Bombproof and Quick to the Punch!
Having used an AR15 with a Razor AMG UH-1 mounted on it for a helicopter shoot with provided weapons, I ordered one for my new Triarc Sytems TSR15SE rifle. Cowitnessed through Daniel Defense fixed irons; this holographic is fantastic. I'm using standard 123 batteries instead of the USB recharge feature, which is fantastic but currently impractical for me, and the sight has been running well and consumes very little power even at the seventh of ten settings. It's easy to pick up the reticle and get it on target by "ghosting" versus actually focusing on the reticle as one does with a red dot or traditional scope. The sight housing is robust and takes a lot of abuse as I am no shrinking violet with my gear. I don't abuse it, but I don't shy away from using it hard either. I did not order the magnifier and still have little trouble reaching out to about 120 yards. Having the cowitness irons helps. Vortex makes a reliable product, and this sight is no exception.
The Vortex Razor AMG UH-1 is a fantastic optic
The Vortex Razor AMG UH-1 is a fantastic optic, little to no parallax shift comparable in every way to an EOTech minus the IR reticle. Solid construction clear glass great field of view. You won't regret saving on the EOTech I've run both, and this optic is just as high quality. the reticle also has a lower triangle hash to compensate for hight overbore at 50 to 25 yards
Vortex Razor AMG is a Excellent holographic sight
After doing the research and reading everything I could find on the web about the Vortex UH-1 and comparing it specifically to Eotechs, I decided to go with the Vortex. There's been a lot of mixed reviews on both sides of the aisle, but I couldn't be more happy with the UH-1. Even in the brightest setting, I don't have any blooming going on. As other reviewers have stated, keep the brightness down, and you're fine. The field of view is excellent as well, it's deceiving looking at the optic from the side, but once you look through it, the hood fades away. Lastly, people have been crying about the weight at 11 ounces. I don't even notice it, so stop whining. Anybody who is considering this sight I'd say go ahead and jump on board you won't be disappointed.
Vortex Razor AMG UH-1 review
As far as holographic sites go, this is one of the best. I started with an EoTech but wound up returning it. The reticle was very fuzzy and had drift issues. I have found that almost all holographic red dot sight has a bit of a blurry/fuzzy reticle, but after using all of them to me, the UH-1 has the best reticle. The field of view that the window gives you is great, and you can't beat the lifetime warranty!!!
The Vortex UH1 is the Best Holographic optic I have ever owned !
So I bought the new Vortex UH-1 for use on my Spikes Tactical in 300 BLK. I must say I was impressed with the reviews I had read and all the YouTube videos I had watched, and I had to purchase one and try it out. Now I own an EO TECH 518 on my Palmetto 5.56 AR, and it's been a great optic, but there's room for improvement, and I must say Vortex made up where EO Tech fell short. The Vortex, despite having a long housing, there's no tunnel vision effect, and it's smaller than my EO Tech, leaving plenty of space on the rail for backup sights or even a magnifier. The 1 MOA center is perfect as well as the lower triangular MOA Vortex says it is for 10 yards or closer, and sure enough, it is on the money. The UH-1 is truly a Set it and forget it optic; I have tested mine at 100 yards standing unsupported with a grouping of 3-4 inches easy. In all great optic, I think I'll eventually retire my EO Tech and buy another one of these for my Palmetto AR.
My Vortex Razor AMG UH 1 review
Having had EOTechs before this, I was taken by the reticle on the Vortex uh1. I think it's more useful than the EOTech reticle. On my suppressed AR pistol, the vortex uh 1 functions well. I ran 300 rounds reasonably quickly, and the suppressor got hot as usual, giving off large heat waves. With a smaller FOV optic on the same AR, those heat waves make it difficult to pick out the red dot and targets in view. This isn't that much of a problem with the Vortex uh1. One thing to note is the booklet that comes with the Vortex uh1 isn't that good. No instructions in the brochure for how to adjust the built-in clamp mount...which is very robust, you need to visit the Vortex website for those simple instructions.
