The Streamlight ProTac Rail Mount HL-X is a powerful weapon light that boasts a luminous output of 1,000 lumens. It comes equipped with a dedicated fixed-mount specifically designed for Picatinny rails. The light offers two options for activation - a remote switch with both momentary and constant on functions, or a conventional push-button tail switch. I have the Pro-Tac HL-X 88066 mounted on my duty ar15, used for tactical applications. It's worked flawlessly. It has a waterproof (submersible) option using the switch end cap and the water-resistant remote light switch that works under extreme weather conditions.

Very bright ar15 light. Good quality. A better price point that Cloud Defense or Surefire. Not as high of quality as those brands, but it works for me. If I had the money, I would buy Cloud Defense or Surefire. But if you need a good quality light on a budget. This serves that purpose to a "T". Buy with confidence. Mine has performed very well.

I use this product on a A.R. pistol. Very well made and appears to be of great quality. Very Bright, 1000 lumens, is enough to use, to spot deer with, LoL!! I have not had to use it, as of yet, because this was bought for H.D. purposes, but, in testing/practice, it will fit the bill. The only issue, my fault, is that this light is long. So, make sure you have a handguard that's over 9" long, or you might be a little cramped on the offhand gripping of your particular weapon. Yes, I would buy this product again, if needed.

I mounted this on a CAR15 used for home defense. The attached mounting bracket is sufficiently sturdy for my needs, and the tape switch mounted to the top of my quad rail is both easy to access or easy to avoid with a thumb forward or palm up grip. The light also comes with a tail cap button in the event the tape switch is not suitable for your purposes. Very bright for indoor or outdoor use. I've owned several Streamlight products with no complaints.

Big dog barks. It usually means coyotes. Bad news for chickens and cats. My 2 acres become daylight and the pastures beyond my fences light up for at least 200 yards. Coyote eyes come back on high beams when they are there. They leave or I make them stay.

This is the second Protac HL-X Rail Mount I have purchased. The first one works flawlessly. This one had a short in the pushbutton tailcap. I emailed Streamlight and two days later I had a new tail cap, free, no questions asked, and it works perfectly.

Full disclosure I'm a Streamlight fan. My first rechargeable light when I was a Police Officer was a Streamlight SL-20. It never failed. I wish these new LED lights would have been available while I was still working. I have this Streamlight protac Railmount hl-x light on my AR-15; this light is for my Tavor SAR. The light output is an incredible, nice center section with a large periphery. Does what it's supposed to do, built like a tank. Will pass down to kids or grandkids for sure.... unless they come up with something else by then.

I have two of these Streamlight Protac hl-x rail mount now and am very impressed. My only other experience with weapon-mounted lights was in the military with our issue Surefire's. These, in my opinion, are for the average civilian shooter an excellent alternative that is affordable and offers great lumens. I most likely will get a third one to mount to my AK and round out my home defense rifles equipped with these lights.

I have owned my Streamlight 88066 for about nine months now, and I am very pleased. First, it's very bright and has a nice hot spot. The pressure pad is an excellent addition to mount and use. Caution, however, that the pressure pad is a somewhat sensitive and accidental discharge of light is very easy. I used surefire lights when I was active duty, and I can't really see why someone would spend so much more money for a surefire when this Streamlight is an option. I would not hesitate to patrol in Afghanistan, or my local city streets with this Streamlight mounted.

I use this flashlight on my duty weapon. I certainly love how strong it is. I also cannot possibly describe how truly pray this light is. You really have to see it for yourself. This is hands-down the Streamlight ProTac Rail Mount HL-X is the best light that I’ve ever owned.

This version comes with a Pic Rail mount which when removed exposes the Scout Mount compatible interface. I used the Magpul Scout light mount (M-LOK® Offset Light/Optic Mount, Aluminum) which attaches to the Midwest Industries PAP m-lok rail. It fits very well. I drilled out the holes on the remote switch and used two M-Lok screw/nuts to attach it very nicely to the m-lok rail. It should be designed to accommodate this so we don't have to drill it.
