Customer Ratings & Reviews
Great Product....Great Customer Service
Great fit on my Century Arms BFT47...would definitely recommend
Exceptional ar15 red dot sight
I bought this to put on at AR-15. AT 25 & 50 yards is money. The model I purchased has a red and green dot option. The green dot seems to have better visibility during the day. No magnification, but that's ok; I'll add a scope when I build the next one.
Best AR Red Dot for the Cash
I mounted this Vortex on my AR carbine. I live off the grid and use this rifle as my Jeep gun for coyotes and other predators. The Vortex StrikeFire II was my first red dot sight and I was very impressed with its performance. The Vortex mounted solid to the rifle and zeroing at 100 yards was fast and simple. I like the ability to change the dot brightness AND switching from red to green. Like other Vortex products, its outstanding quality.
would buy again
I didn't have to zero it in.It was dead-on @ 25yrds which is where I wanted it to be.This is mounted on a Sig M400. Even with rapid-fire(60rds), it held its zero. The only thing I don't like is the switch, which gets turned on when set on its side and also when inside the rifle case. So I have to take the battery out every time I put the gun away. If this problem is corrected, I would buy again.
Wow. I love this red dot site.
Wow. I love this red dot site. Even in mid-day AZ sunshine, I do not need to turn the brightness up. This is mounted on an AR-15 and only has about 100 rounds downrange so far but so far - so good. Optics are clear, and so far, zero has held. As others have mentioned, the flip-up covers can be tough to close, but that's OK because I feel the tight fit should seal out dust or water better.
Gruvdizzle
The Strikefire is what it is...an inexpensive optic. It feels solid, the buttons/turrets are positive, the glass is pretty clear (a little green tint but not bad, and it has a lifetime warranty. The negatives for this optic are that I thought the reticle would be a little brighter. The dot is clear, and four moa is a good dot size, but it's sometimes a little harder to pick up than I would like. (I'm talking daytime) You CAN see it in bright sunlight looking up into the sky, but as I said, it's hard to pick up...(maybe I'm spoiled by my Eotechs). I chose this optic over the SPARC due to the larger tube, which I think was a good choice! Not much tunnel vision, if at any. I mounted this onto an M10-762, and once I got the mount figured out, the optic holds zero quite well. Overall the optic was an excellent choice for this rifle. The other option is the Aimpoint PRO, a much more delicate optic but more than double the price. For my application on a cheap rifle, this is perfect. If I were going to be mounting on my AR, it would say Aimpoint on the side. I would recommend this optic for a cheap, nonduty rifle. (all things considered, though it would probably do just fine on a duty rifle as well if funds are tight)
Great sight, nice and bright
The StrikeFire is an incredible red dot sight, nice and bright. The only problem I had was the dot would go out after 1 or 2 shots. I thought that it must be a battery connection issue, so I pulled the battery cap off but didn't see anything wrong. The only thing I could think of was with the recoil and the rebound of the buffer on an AR, it was compressing the spring in the cap and losing connection, so I stretched the spring about a 1/4 inch and put it back together. Well, that did it, no more problem. When I got home, I installed a disconnector spring under the pigtail spring that it came with to add a little bit more spring pressure to keep the battery from moving. It all works great now. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. Five stars if it wasn't for that issue.
Im already looking to bye another. I love this sight.
I bought this to mount on my Henry big boy steel carbine in 41 mag, sighted it in, and boy howdy doe it make this riffle fun and accurate. I live pretty rurally, and coyotes and mountain lions are very active here. The red dot gives me a very fast site target, and the riffle does the rest. I love it and will purchase another.
Vortex StrikeFire II
I was looking for an optic to put on my 458 SOCOM. All that i tried, it ate within 5 to seven shots. I had a generation I strike fire in my safe and gave it a try. It has been running without a hitch and never loses zero. I am now buying the strike fire II. If it can take the SOCOM, you know it's a beast of an optic.
New to using red dots
I'm new to the AR platform and red dots. Bought this Vortex based on reviews. I took it to the range yesterday, and it performed great. I was shooting in the 30 to 40-yard range just to get a feel for it. I made a slight adjustment, and it was right on target.
Excellent Red Dot Sight
This sight attaches easily to the rail of my rifle. The 1X allows me to keep both eyes open when firing. The elevation and windage adjustments are very well thought out since the caps, once removed, become a screw-driver allowing you to make the adjustments easily.
Best Red Dot for a Great Price
This red dot sight does it all. I have 3 of them on various guns and have not had a problem with any of them holding zero, and that includes my AR-10. It is switchable red/green and also has a touch button for NVG use. The only issue, If you want to call that, is that the NVG switch is way too easy to press by accident, and it will make you think that the sight is off. Once you are aware of this slight limitation, you learn quickly to check the NVG switch before you try turning your sight off and back on. Plenty bright in Midday sun and keeps the point of aim after hundreds of rounds put through it. Great Deal
