Trijicon MRO Red Dot Sight 2.0 MOA
The celebrated Trijicon MRO 2.0 MOA from Trijicon is a reflex-style, sealed red dot sight that is meant to be used for carbines, shotguns, and rifles to assist in providing the quickest in target acquisition. The design of the sight is that it should be used with both eyes open so the shooter can maintain the best in situational awareness for their particular operation.
One of the best benefits is the large aperture and the tapered light path which maintains the maximum viewing area despite the small size of the optic itself. In this manner you can acquire the target quickly even from prone, kneeling, sitting and standing shooting positions. In fact, the lens coating is of an advanced design that allows the electronics to produce a crisp red dot for fast acquisition.
Ambidextrous shooters can use the brightness control dial on the Trijicon MRO comfortably as the setting is within easy reach of both hands. The “off” position is in the middle of eight different brightness settings which allow for quick adjustment for changing lighting conditions, and the ergonomic design makes it easy to use.
The fully protected adjusters on the Trijicon MRO mean that they will maintain their settings even if the weapon is being handled roughly. Plus, no special tools are needed to make adjustments, and the hard-anodized, forged 7075-T6 housing is sturdy, durable and fully sealed so that it is waterproof. This also means that you will get years of service out of the MOR 2 under most conditions.

Customer Ratings & Reviews
Awesomen AR15 Red Dot Sight
I have some astigmatism; I typically use illuminated etched glass for it. I've owned Eotech3-0, Aimpoint m3, original delta point, and sparc2. This has best dot for me, maybe tied with Aimpoint m3 but the green seems tighter dot, with almost no star strings. American made awesomeness. I needed just a red dot for my AR15, solid sight, and fast acquisition with the green dot for my aging eyes.
Best AR Red dot IMO
I love this AR Red Dot. I have a couple of Aimpoints (T1 micros), an Eotech, and a cheap Burris -this is the most precise and widest field of view of each of them. The Eotech may have a wider FOV -I haven't tried to measure it. But this is my favorite of them all. It's nice to adjust brightness with the left or right hand while one hand is on the grip. As far as ruggedness- it's been great with 3-gun use. I don't know if it's as tough as an Aimpoint, but I haven't had an issue yet.
Best plase for a Trijicon MRO for Sale
The clarity of the glass and the location of the on/off switch are just two highlights of this optic. When I run drills or attend a shooting school, I don't notice the bluish tint of the glass some reviewers note. What I do notice is the amazing field of view this optic has. It appears to be built like an AGOG. Enough said on that. The mount comes with is robust and solid. It has not moved or shifted zero after 500rds on an Adams Arms piston upper receiver. I don't need a quick-release mount since I have no reason to remove it. If the battery goes dead, I will have to flip up the Troy back-up sights. An appealing characteristic is that Trijicon says the battery should last five years on setting 3. This rifle is my primary home defense/training gun, and the 2 MOA dot is perfect for me. So far, I do not have any complaints about the optic itself. The only negative would be the lack of lens covers. My ACOG and Reflex both came with either a scope coat or bikini covers. The MRO does not come with any type of lens cover whatsoever. As of now, Trijicon and Scopecoat both said they are not making any lens covers for this optic. I mention this because I like to put a cover on the lens while cleaning my rifles and during storage. I would run the MRO on my patrol rifle if my department allowed me. As far as comparing the Aim Point T1, T2 to the Trijicon MRO, my pick is the MRO for two reasons. The first is the larger field of view, and the second, being the location and operation of the power/brightness adjustment.
Don't believe the negative reviews
At work, I use an issued Aimpoint T2. At home, I have a Trijicon MRO red dot. I bought the MRO instead of the Aimpoint because of the price difference alone. Lo and behold, I prefer the Trijicon MRO. Quality is top-notch, but that is to be expected. The broader field of view makes the dot easier to acquire, whereas, with the Aimpoint, there is less room for error when aligning your eye behind the scope (depending on how consistent your presentation is, the Aimpoint's dot can get "lost" when bringing the rifle up). This is far less likely to happen with the MRO. The review about the lens being cross threaded is inaccurate. The glass is supposed to be like that. It's the same on the Aimpoints.
Trijicon MRO Good To Go Red dot sight
Out of the box, The Trijicon MRO required little adjustment to zero my AR at 50 yards. It does have a strange blue tint when you look through the glass, but it doesn't hinder your accuracy or shooting what so ever. I didn't try the factory 1/3 co-witness mount that it came with as I preferred buying the Midwest Industries QD mount instead. I took it to a night shoot and matched it up next to my Aimpoint Pro. The overall field of view looks much larger than the Aimpoint does, especially while shooting at night. Does it hold up as good as an Aimpoint does? Time will tell, I guess, being that it's a new offering, but my money is on yes since it's a Trijicon product. I like it, especially the price point it comes in at. Buy with confidence!
The Trijicon MRO is great for Astigmatism - Awesome Glass
This review is to help those with astigmatism. I have a 5.75 cylinder in each eye. Given my oddly shaped eyes, I have pretty strong overall power-producing 20/35 in both eyes without corrective lenses. I had worries that my eyes would cause a problem. I purchased a Trijicon MRO with a lower 1/3 mount and cannot say enough good things. My astigmatism produces a very sharp and distinct red dot centered with a slightly lighter and blurry tail that runs out southeast or approximately five o'clock off the center dot. After reading about challenges with astigmatism causing red dot issues, I was extremely pleased with the clarity. MRO sits atop my Sig 516. Was pounding a Bianchi plate rack from 200 yards after a tight 25 yard zero with Am Eagle 556 55 grain. My instructor, an impressive battle-tested former Special Forces Operator, turned me on to the MRO, for he bought one as well. He was equally impressed. Extremely light, crystal clear, and simple to zero and operate. You will not be disappointed for you truly get what you pay for with this Trijicon.

Trijicon red dot scope
Yes, there is a mild blue tint when used indoors (it is not noticed outdoors). I bought this device for home defense. I don't think I would notice the slight blue tint if I had to shoot in a defense situation. This sight replaced an Eotech. The Eotech battery life was too short, and the brightness controls on the Eotech are hard to adjust compared to the MRO. The Trijicon MRO is my favorite red dot sight. Lightweight, easy to adjust the brightness, and minimal tunnel effect.
Trijicon red dot MRO
This MRO optic is outstanding! Those words are coming from a diehard Aimpoint fan. I don't see the magnification. The blue tint is so minimal that I probably wouldn't have paid it any mind if someone hadn't pointed it out. The giant objective leaves my Aimpoint T1 in its dust. No caps to lose, and the well thought out top dial makes it just that much better. Better than T1 performance for Aimpoint PRO money makes this a no brainier. Buy one! Heck, I bought two.
Trijicon MRO sight
I was shopping for a red-dot style optic for my new AR build, and I was heavily leaning towards the Aimpoint Micro T-2 based on my research, not experience. I have not used an Aimpoint, , the only quality red-dot type optic I've used and owned is my EOTech EXPS2, which I love. My first attraction to the MRO was the larger objective lens. I also liked the capless turrets, and of course, the USA made. The smaller 2 MOA dot over my EOTech was also attractive. I could not find any shops were I could compare Aimpoints, EOTech, and the MRO, so I purchased this strictly based on my research and not any experience. Now that I've had this on my rifle for about a month, all I can say is my next CQC style rifle will have an MRO. Like another reviewer, I do not notice the very slight magnification; in fact, I would not have known about it if I had not read it. And for the blueish tint, it's only noticeable indoors against the yellowish incandescent lighting. One thing to note: because I have astigmatism in my eye, the dot is a bit oval when I increase the brightness. I read about this while doing my research, so it was no surprise. When I drop the brightness, all I see is a circular dot. In reality, it's a nonissue anyway since I leave it on the lowest possible setting for whatever the ambient lighting is.
Excellent, Even Innovative
Over the years, I've owned and used numerous Aimpoints, Eotechs, Trijicon's, Meprolights, etc. All have had their strengths and weaknesses with much of the decision-making process comes down to which features are most important (price? battery type/life? FOV through the optic? weight? size? NV compatibility? etc.). The new Trijicon MRO is obviously designed to compete w/Aimpoint's small/light Micro-optics directly, being somewhat larger but still weighing only 5.88oz w/the factory 1/3 co-witness mount. However, MRO differs in a couple of important ways. The larger objective lens provides a 44% greater FOV when looking through the optic, the brightness control is placed on top, so it's ambidextrously accessible, the brightness control has a 2nd 'off' position well-located between the daytime levels of '2' & '3' (so you don't have to cycle up through every level starting from the lowest NV setting just to get a visible reticle) and the W/E adjustments aren't capped (so no caps to lose over time). Battery life is excellent at 50K hrs at setting '3' & 600 hrs at ultra-bright setting '6', '4' should be appx 10K hrs and '5' appx 2K hrs. I find setting '3' to be adequate for overcast days, dim rooms or night use w/a 500-lumen weapons light. Switch tension seems a little tight, but that's subjective, and I'd rather have it a little too tight than a little too loose (this and the switch's location help prevent accidental changes in brightness from the switch rubbing against your gear). Care should be taken not to bend or break any of the 12 spring battery contacts when installing the battery, but I encountered no difficulties. I've read complaints about slight magnification, lens tint, reflections & image shift and I encountered all of these in both my MRO's *if I look for them* (it should be noted that the Aimpoint Micros have these as well according to independent testing but may not be as obvious due to the Micro's smaller objective lens). However, when shooting and focusing on my target, I am completely unaware of any of these so-called problems, and that's what is important to me. Any optic with an objective lens has an optical 'sweet spot' so I suggest experimenting w/the MRO at different locations to determine which is best for you. For me, that's as far back as possible which has the added benefit of maximizing FOV through the optic (which makes finding the reticle faster & easier when shooting from awkward positions with sloppy cheek weld). An unexpected optical bonus for me was the sharpness & clarity of the reticle. I have astigmatism and found the MRO's reticle to be less distorted than any of Aimpoint's or Eotech's offerings. Bottom line is you get legendary Trijicon toughness, a lifetime warranty, increased FOV, a well-thought-out ergonomic control setup in an optic that's not much bigger/heavier than the Aimpoint Micros for hundreds less. Five stars in my book!
Great sight
Received mine in less than a week. The red dot is clear and precise. Can't wait to go shoot it and zero it in.
