If you can't focus on your front sight with these...?????
I am a fan of the Trijicon Tritium Night Sights with large front sight outline. Both the HD and HD XR sets are highly recommended by me. For my shooting style, the HD set is my preferred option, but the HD XR (extended range) set is still excellent. Trijicon Night Sights are my go-to brand, and I have a pair for every handgun they make a set for (with the exception of the "Kimber Cut" set). I wish they would make a set for the "Kimber Cut" and 1/3 cowitness Suppressor height HD's, so I could have them on all my handguns. The photo shown is of the HD XR set. The HD set has a slightly wider front sight post.
Top of the Line, Period!
These Trijicon HD Night Sight are the best choice for your Glock or any other handgun. The green dot surrounded by an orange glow is highly visible in low light, and the front sight is clearly visible in daylight. The unique U-shaped rear sight is easy to use and has been widely imitated. Although they may be a bit pricey, the quality is excellent and worth the investment. Don't hesitate to purchase, you won't regret it.
The perfect glock 17 night sights?
I purchased these trijicon hd night sights for my carry pistol as I wasn't satisfied with the sight picture on Trijicon's standard night sights or the factory night sights on another Glock I owned. The U-shaped wide rear notch and slightly taller height of this sight make it a noticeable departure from the standard Trijicon. The large dot serves as a useful reference in daylight and low light, but won't be visible in complete darkness and only slightly visible in very low light. The front sight contains a green tritium lamp for use in low light or darkness. The wider rear notch makes acquiring a sight picture easier, and even my 70-year-old father was able to make accurate shots from 10-15 yards with ease. I've tested the sight up to 25 yards and found it enhances target acquisition. It works as expected in the dark with the three-dot system. Overall, I believe these are the best sights for Glocks, offering faster acquisition and improved follow-up shots. The orange front outline is an asset in daylight/dusk, but won't be distracting. I highly recommend these sights to other Glock owners. I prefer the orange outline to the yellow outline, but this is a personal preference and others may prefer yellow.
Fantastic Trijicon hd night sights review
These Trijicon HD night sights are fantastic. I have them installed on all 3 of my Glocks 26, 19, 22. I have the orange front sights on the 26 and 19 and the green/yellow on the 40 cal G22. I like both colors. Very visible day or night, which is excellent for these old eyes. I used the Maryland Gun Works rear sight tool to installed them. Very easy with the tool, very difficult without it. A little pricey but well worth the money. Accurate at the range.
Excellent Glock 19 night sights
I replaced the stock Glock 19 plastic sights with these Trijicon HD night sights. I used the Glock Screw-On Front Sight Installation Tool (Product #: 844142) for the front and the Maryland Gun Works Rear Sight Tool Glock (Product #: 884401) for the rear. The sights stand tall and are very visible in light and dark conditions. The front sight is very fast to acquire, even with my old eyes. The rear sight is square and tall enough that I can use it to rack the slide single-handed on my belt or another object. That is an essential feature on a defensive handgun. When I installed the rear sight, I used a micrometer to ensure it was centered. When I went to the range, I did not have to readjust anything because it was perfect at 25 yards. I used blue Loctite on the threads of the front sight. I might have used red Loctite if I expected to do a lot of rapid fire, but removing red Loctite requires applying heat first. The rear sight was very snug, and I did not use Loctite on it. Please note, the sight tools make the installation/removal process much more accessible than other tools. I would not hammer the rear sight into place.
trijicon hd night sight review
I absolutely love these Trijicon HD night sights. Luminescent orange front site. Blacked out rear sights. Great for us older guys. I never could figure out the value of the three dot system. Pulls your focus away from the front sight. I will be putting these on all of my semi-auto carry guns. Much faster than three dots for this 49-year-old.
Great Glock Night Sights
I have run Trijicon night sights for years on various guns. The newer HD version is even better by showing the big front sight dot during the day. I have both green and orange HD sights, and I have found the orange to be a little better during the day for me to see quickly. (FYI - they both look the same at night). These will now be my default upgrade to all my guns in the future.
I like these Trijicon HD Glock Night Sights.
I like these Trijicon HD Glock Night Sights. They are easy to find in a fast presentation, even with my old eyes. Unlike some competitor's sights sets, these just slide in place. I have installed two sets, and so far, I have not had to file them down to fit the slot. They are also securely tensioned. My experience indicates this is a quality product. I have tried some of the gimmicky sights on the market. These fit my experience, training, and needs better. If you want to replace standard style sights, I think these are well worth your consideration. Over time, I will install these on all of my handguns for which they are available.
My Review of Trijicon HD Night Sights For Glock
PROS - The Yellow or Orange front sight allows for fast target acquisition, without any visual confusion from the much more muted color of the rear sight. The U-shaped notch in the rear sight makes left / right centering of the front sight much easier and faster to determine than standard square notches. The tritium is very bright in the dark without being too bright (the glow is bright enough to slightly illuminate YOU if you aren't carrying concealed). INTERMEDIATE - You should get YELLOW tritium for the rear sight (the front tritium is always green), so that way, you don't have confusion at night with trying to figure out which of the three green dots in the front vs. rear. Also, yellow tritium is a bit dimmer than green, so your front green dot at night will be a little brighter than your rear yellow dots, which is also an advantage. CONS - Installation and zeroing the rear sight are somewhat complicated, and either should be done by an armorer or if you do it yourself, you will need a file / Dremel to file down the base of the rear sight. It is too big to install the unmodified rear sight - it will NOT slide into the groove at the rear of the slide without the base being filed down quite a bit. You will also need a hammer/vice/punch or a sight adjustment tool in order to fully push the rear sight into the slide groove after you have filed the base of the sight some. You will also need these to slide the rear sight when zeroing it at the range. Lots of YouTube videos show you how to do this. Be sure to bring hammer/vice/punch or the sight adjustment tool with you to the range when you are zeroing the rear sight, as it is NOT easy to move after being installed (this is a good thing obviously). If you use an armorer for all this, and you think he's off with his left/right zero, you'll have to do it yourself.
Excellent Night sight features.
I bought these sights for my Glock17 to be used as a defensive sidearm and for IDPA/USPSA. These sights work very well in bright sunlight as well as low to no-light. I like the orange "dot" as it is very easy to see quickly. The rear tritium vials are not ringed with white like most other night sights and work well this way and don't distract your eye from the front sight. These appear to be very well thought out. I did need to do some minor filing on the rear sight's dovetail to get the proper fit, but it's not a big deal if you have the tools.
Trijicon HD are Great Glock Sights
These Trijicon HD sights are the best I've ever used for self-defense and combat style shooting. I wanted to wait for the Orange ones, because I have them on two other guns, but they weren't available. The yellow (I think, yellowish greenish) are the ones I got, and I like them at least as well as the orange; maybe better.
Outstanding Glock Night Sights
These are outstanding sights; they work in all lighting conditions. I was a little concerned that I would not like the sights in bright light, which I normally have at the range. This is a completely wrong assumption on my part. The high contrast bright front sight jumps out when you bring the gun up to the fire position. I will say that I was not really disappointed with the GLOCK factory sights; in fact, I really liked them until I put these Trijicon's on my home defense gun. I am in my 50's and need readers, These are great sights, and I just order three more sets for all my GLOCKS. MSP is a great fast shipping company, and I could not beat their price with much searching. Very satisfied!!!!!
