Vortex Diamondback Tactical FFP 6-24x50 Rifle Scope

Don't be surprised if you are taken aback by the cost of the Vortex Diamondback Tactical FFP, as it offers impressive performance and features that are usually found in optics that cost much more. A standout feature is the first focal plane reticle, which allows shooters to utilize the detailed EBR-2C reticles for rangefinding, holdovers, and windage corrections at any magnification. The sturdy one-piece aluminum tube houses a 4x optical system that provides outstanding clarity and sharpness from edge to edge. The low-profile exposed elevation and windage turrets allow for easy and precise adjustments while taking up minimal space, and a side-adjustable parallax ensures that parallax error is eliminated from 10 yards to infinity, giving shooters added peace of mind.

Features and Benefits of the Vortex Diamondback Tactical 6-24x50:

    Optical Features

    • XD™ Lens Elements - Extra-low dispersion (XD) glass increases resolution and color fidelity, resulting in crisp, sharp images.
    • Fully Multi-Coated - Proprietary coatings increase light transmission with multiple anti-reflective coatings on all air-to-glass surfaces.
    • First Focal Plane Reticle - Scale of reticle remains in proportion to the zoomed image. Constant subtensions allow accurate holdover and ranging at all magnifications.
    • Glass-Etched Reticle - Allows for intricate reticle design. Protected between two layers of glass for optimum durability and reliability.

    Construction Features

    • Tube Size - 30 mm diameter provides maximized internal adjustment and strength.
    • Aircraft-Grade Aluminum - Constructed from a solid block of aircraft-grade aluminum for strength and rigidity.
    • Waterproof - O-ring seals prevent moisture, dust and debris from penetrating for reliable performance in all environments.
    • Fogproof - Nitrogen gas purging prevents internal fogging over a wide range of temperatures.
    • Shockproof - Rugged construction withstands recoil and impact.
    • Hard Anodized Finish - Highly durable hard-coat anodization provides a low-glare matte surface and helps camouflage the shooter's position.

    Internal Mechanism Design Features

    • Precision-Force Spring System - Uses premium components in the erector-spring system to ensure maximum repeatability and ease of adjustment.
    • Precision-Glide Erector System - This system ensures the components in the zoom lens mechanism glide smoothly and cleanly through all magnification ranges.

    Convenience Features

    • Fast Focus Eyepiece - Allows quick and easy reticle focusing.
    • Magnification Rib - The raised rib on the magnification ring facilitates fast magnification changes in the heat of action

The Vortex Diamondback Tactical 6-24x50 FFP Riflescope is the ultimate long-range shooting solution. Equipped with a first focal plane reticle, this scope allows shooters to use the information-packed EBR-2C reticle for ranging, holdovers, and windage corrections at any magnification. The 6-24x magnification range makes it versatile for a wide range of shooting scenarios, and the 50mm objective lens provides an ample field of view to acquire targets quickly.

The one-piece aluminum tube construction makes the scope rugged and durable, able to withstand the recoil of heavy caliber rifles. The scope is also Nitrogen purged, and O-ring sealed, making it waterproof and fog proof, perfect for hunting and shooting in any weather conditions.

The exposed low-profile turrets provide quick and precise adjustments for elevation and windage, and the side-adjustable parallax knob helps eliminate parallax error from 10 yards to infinity, making long-range shots more accurate.

Multi-coated lenses with Vortex's XR Plus coatings provide excellent light transmission, clarity, and color accuracy, providing a bright and sharp image even in low-light conditions.

Looks good on a savage 6.5 cm

This scope requires 20 MOA of travel right out of the box just to zero, although it's probably due to a canted barrel on my 6.5 Savage XP. I anticipate adding an MOA rail/mount if your barrel is not upward-sloping. I added 40 MOA altogether and can still zero at 100 yards, and there's plenty of travel to dial in. I really like the thin reticle, and combined with the open crosshair, it's very effective. The built-in rangefinder is a nice touch, but it requires exceptional steadiness to get an accurate reading, so I prefer to dial in when shooting at mid-to-longer ranges. The eye relief seems shorter than advertised, but there are no distortions, which may be due to adding an MOA rail/mount and placing the dials in the middle, far from bottoming out. The reticle holdovers also include windage marks that are reliable inside of mid-ranges at lower wind speeds. At longer ranges, dialing has just been more consistent. My scope has a really tight magnification ring that I've mitigated with an aftermarket throw lever. The side parallax dial is also very tight, but since it's fixed beyond 300 yards, it doesn't get adjusted often. Recently, I took it out just over 1,000 yards, and the main difficulty was determining an accurate distance. Once established, it was right on with plenty of room to spare. In all, this is a good-looking scope with some really nice features that get the job done.

    decided to test my accuracy

I recently constructed an AR-15 rifle and decided to test my accuracy by attempting to qualify at 500 yards at a range in Homestead, Florida. However, the scope that I had on the rifle wasn't sufficient for the task; I could qualify at 100 yards but not 200 yards. I came across the Vortex 6-24x50 Diamondback Tactical FFP Riflescope, with a 30mm tube and an EBR-2C MRAD reticle, and I knew it was exactly what I needed. I mounted the new scope and had to requalify at 100 yards, which I did with ease. I then took my rifle to the 500-yard range, despite being told by the Rangemaster not to expect too much, as I only had bulk ammo. I used a ballistics app on my iPhone to calculate the necessary adjustments, and on my first shot, I hit the Iron Maiden dead center. I fired two more shots, and "Dong, Dong!" - I had qualified to 200 yards. The Rangemaster then said, "300!" and I hit it again, "Dong, Dong, Dong!" "400!" "Dong, Dong, Dong!" Qualified to 400 yards, and I could clearly see the shots hitting the targets. The 500-yard steel target was down due to construction, but I drove out a paper target to the 500-yard spot. The Rangemaster said "Look back." "That is a quarter of a mile away, and you will never see these bullets hit. We will have to drive back to see if you qualified for 500." In short, I did qualify at 500 yards with my everyday AR-15, bulk ammo, and the exceptional Vortex scope. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, high-performance scope.

I've been using this optic for about six months now. It's another great Vortex optic. I have several different models. This one is sitting on a Ruger Precision Rifle, and the combo is surgical.

Overall really good quality optic. Perfect size for a light tactical rifle, mine is on a rem 700 LT. Great for bench or field shooting in broad daylight, but i find the reticle somewhat cluttered and tends to lose the crosshairs against dark background or lowlight conditions.

I put on my tikka varmint had a vortex crossfire 6-18x44 on it before this 6-24X50 MOA has now made my gun a precision instrument. The glass is excellent for the price, and being in FFP makes the reticle great at any range. The EBR-2C reticle is fantastic to use once you get in to the new groove I could have my zero at 200 or 400 yards no matter the wind drift.

I order my first one for a bolt 223 and have used it out to 800 yards. From 6-20, it is comparable to my viper, but after 20 is where it falls off and gets a little hard to see through. It has performed great though and a 6-24 FFP scope at under $350. It does exactly what you need it to, but if you want a little more clarity at high zoom, I would recommend a viper. For under 1000 yards, this is a winner. I have a second one on the way now.

Just mounted this vortex diamondback tactical scope on my .308 AR-10, and all I can say is WOW! I know that Vortex is excellent for the cost, but I am amazed at the quality, especially for a sub-$500 FFP optic. The only “complaint” is that parallax runs out after 300 yards. Even then, I can easily pick out wires on telephone poles well past 1,000 yards away.

I like this diamondback tactical ffp Scope. I didn't know if I wanted the MOA or the MIRAD. I got the MOA because I am more familiar with inches yards and ft than the mm system. The thickness of the crosshair I wasn't sure about, but after using it, it is just fine. I am using the scope on an Anschutz 22lr for long-range and close range, and it works great for both. The only thing I can say negative about it is it's a little dark on 20-24power. I am using it on a DIP 25moa rail, and I don't know how far my max range is yet. Two hundred fifty yards was no problem. Just dial in and shot. Dial it back, and it's right on. Love it!

Vortex diamondback tactical ffp is Nice for the price

I don’t own this vortex diamondback tactical ffp scope, but I helped a new shooter at our PRS club practice that has one. It was a beautiful glass and tracked perfectly out to 700 yards. He was getting first shot hits on 12-inch plates out to 650 and on an 18inch plate at 700. It’s good for the money.

    Awesome Scope for the Price!!

I recently bought a new Browning X-Bolt 6mm Creedmoor and was in the market for a better scope to equip it with. I craved something with tactical turrets because I would instead dial my yardage when possible. When I saw this new Diamondback Tactical model was available in 6-24x50 with FFP, I did not wait to order it. In my opinion, Vortex did an excellent job with this scope. For the price point, you get a lot of features that you don't even get with, more expensive scopes (FFP, Sunshade, 24x Zoom, etc.). And the quality is what I would expect from Vortex. Magnification is apparent throughout the zoom range, and the turrets have positive clicks and didn't feel mushy to me. Not quite at the level of the Viper PST that I have on my Ruger Precision Rifle, but that's a whole other level of scope, and for my hunting rifle this scope fits the bill perfectly. I mounted it, and after zeroing it in, I was consistent with sub-MOA groups. Vortex produces some excellent optics, and their warranty is hard to beat as well. I'm delighted with this scope and thanks to MSP for the fast shipping!
