The Vortex QD mount proved a great choice for mounting my Vortex 6-20X, 30mm scope on my new AR-10. The cantilever design provides a good amount of flexibility when mounting large scopes and given the ample rail space between the upper receiver and the handguard, it became easy to find the perfect eye relief point for almost any scope. The quick-release feature also allows for easy mounting of backup fixed sights and the scope. The quality of the mount is excellent, and the customer support from Vortex is outstanding. I have also used these mounts on my AR-15 builds and can confidently recommend them for any scope mounting needs.

The vortex quick release mount was as described and appears to be well-built and sturdy. I particularly liked the convenience of the quick-detach feature for switching between rifles. I originally purchased it for use on a Bergara B-14 HMR in 6.5 Creedmoor. However, the 2-inch offset of the cantilever design provided too much eye relief for the scope I am using. The only downside I found is that when attached to the scope rail (using a Remington 700 rail mount), the quick-detach levers could not be fully closed and thus stuck out in a perpendicular position rather than the desired parallel position. Despite this, overall, the mount is really solid and well-designed, seems durable and easy to use, and is a good option for anyone looking for a quick-detach cantilever mount.

Used this AR Scope mount with my Strike Eagle on an AR-10 platform. Took me less than 15 minutes and its rock solid, the installation is very intuitive and allowed for the non-standard rail on my weapon. Enjoy the mount almost as much as the glass it holds.

This is a quality AR15 Scope Mount made in the USA. Well worth the money and I would buy again. Fits nice and secure. Latche fits and closes very nice.

I really like this AR 15 Scope mount. Very well made. Easy on and off if the optic needs to come off for cleaning or other amorer work. The couple of times I took the mount and optic off, it held zero once reinstalled. This is my second vortex quick detach scope mount on a second gun. I would recommend this mount. Very solid.

What a super high quality, beautifully made scope mount. It a little pricey but I love it, excellent craftsmanship.

I purchased this mount to put my Vortex PST Gen II 1-6 scope on my Daniel Defense M4. First, let me say the quality of this mount is right there with the best of them. I believe the Quick Release assemblies are American Defense. The scope has a lower ring and upper ring half arrangement, which I prefer over the side by side. The scope and the mount remained in place and on target with hundreds of rounds down the barrel. If I release the mount and reinstall it, the scope remains on target. All in all I believe it was a good purchase.

I installed this mount on an AR15 carbine using a Vortex 1 x 4 viper PST. I was concerned about having the mount tight enough not to move but loose enough to remove quickly and still return to zero. I adjusted the mount tension to be easily removable and sighted it in @ 100 yards. I then dialed up the scope and engaged a 12" steel plate @ 350 yards hitting it reliably. I removed the mount/scope and proceeded to sight in my BUIS. When I remounted the scope/mount, I engaged the 350-yard plate again, hitting it every time. Upon inspection, I noticed that the mount's cross bolts were only .004" smaller than the Picatinny slots in the receiver, and there was zero back and forth movement when the mount was installed before being locked down. It would seem that this precision aids in the mount's ability to return to zero. The mount put the scope at the correct height for use with my MagPul BUIS, which was an important consideration. The Vortex 1 x 4 viper PST mounted with perfect spacing between the rings and turrets, putting the ocular in the correct position for my eye.

At first, I was confused at the directions, but after playing for it and tightening the mount on my m1a, this mount had a nice solid lock-up, including the lock-up for the quick release. Excellent product. I have it pared with my vortex HST scope

I bought this for my Viper HST Gen II, and I am impressed! As a machinist with 25 years, I am VERY impressed with the quality and the precision! I like the solid lock-up and the secondary locks on the flip mounts that will ensure it stays that way! Pricey? Yes. Build like a tank? Definitely!
