Trijicon MRO Red Dot Sight 2.0 MOA

The celebrated Trijicon MRO 2.0 MOA from Trijicon is a reflex-style, sealed red dot sight that is meant to be used for carbines, shotguns, and rifles to assist in providing the quickest in target acquisition. The design of the sight is that it should be used with both eyes open so the shooter can maintain the best in situational awareness for their particular operation.

One of the best benefits is the large aperture and the tapered light path which maintains the maximum viewing area despite the small size of the optic itself. In this manner you can acquire the target quickly even from prone, kneeling, sitting and standing shooting positions. In fact, the lens coating is of an advanced design that allows the electronics to produce a crisp red dot for fast acquisition.

Ambidextrous shooters can use the brightness control dial on the Trijicon MRO comfortably as the setting is within easy reach of both hands. The “off” position is in the middle of eight different brightness settings which allow for quick adjustment for changing lighting conditions, and the ergonomic design makes it easy to use.

The fully protected adjusters on the Trijicon MRO mean that they will maintain their settings even if the weapon is being handled roughly. Plus, no special tools are needed to make adjustments, and the hard-anodized, forged 7075-T6 housing is sturdy, durable and fully sealed so that it is waterproof. This also means that you will get years of service out of the MOR 2 under most conditions.

    A Straightforward Red Dot

    5 out of 5
    Location:
    Date: June 20, 2018

Trijicon MRO is a lightweight atop the weapon, doing it more straightforward to carry and move. Second of all, these sights are simple to use, and many have long battery life so that they may stay on and ready to go whenever you need them.

Third, they take up less room on your safe than conventional riflescopes and bigger dot sights, allowing for easy storage and recovery. These aren't the many reasons to select a little red dot, but they are a good start. The Trijicon MRO is very comparable to Aimpoint's hugely grand Micro T-1 and T-2 tours, but barely identical. The most noticeable distinction is the MRO's larger objective lens, 25 mm when in comparison with the Aimpoint optics 20 mm.

Also, the rheostat controlling the illumination and casing the battery is at the top of the sight as opposed to on the side. More on that later. Also, Trijicon MRO is 100% made in the U.S. The Trijicon MRO has a forged 7075 aluminum casing, the very same as Trijicon's combat known ACOG sights. It boasts 70 MOA of total adjustment, and the elevation and windage adjustments can be moved to utilize the rim of a cartridge case, as opposed to needing a unique tool. Its reticle is the MOA point that gives an easy-to-acquire aiming apparatus that does not cover an inordinate amount of most targets at distances where an unmagnified optics is likely to be used.

The included CR2032 battery offers five years of life at the 3, brightness setting. As I mentioned, the battery is placed within the rheostat atop the Trijicon MRO. This has numerous advantages. It enables the shooter to easily keep a firing grip on the carbine when adjusting illumination since the service hand can reach over the view to turn it to the desired setting. In the same time, also, it allows the shooter to look at the environment by merely looking up without breaking her or his cheek weld since one need only move the eyes, maybe not the entire head, to see the illumination placing. Brightness options include two nighttime vision and six brightness settings, with the off, position located in the middle rather than at the minimal end. This is another superb invention on a little red dot since the consumer shouldn't cycle through almost imperceptible, dim degrees before locating the dot, it is going to be there instantly when the scope is turned on.

Apparently, with the MRO's long battery life, the majority of us will abandon it on the 3rd visible setting, so no adjustment is required should we will need to place the carbine into action.

The Trijicon MRO is available with three mounting possibilities: no base, a mid-range base, and a base that co-witnesses with standard elevation AR-15 iron sights, along with the bases will likely be available as aftermarket accessories. Given the MRO's quality and competitive cost, I wouldn't be surprised if, in the not very distant future, accessory makers assemble many different aftermarket bases to match landscapes on other firearms or offer additional benefits. I beat-up the Trijicon MRO sent for testing harshly.

I spiked it like football on a concrete floor several times, dumped it in cold water, then dunked it in warm water and during all the abuse, its red dot continued to glow brightly while the glass along with the home remained unharmed. There were not any cracks in the glass, no dents in the aluminum and also no internal fogging. The MRO might not have produced a brand new category, but given its functionality in testing and its producer's reputation for quality, it isn't surprising that the MRO on top of the list for all those wanting high-performance red dot sights.
