ERGO Gapper - AR-15 Pistol Grip Filler
The Ergo Gapper is a small unique part designed to fill the small void in front of the pistolgrip up to the rear of the trigger guard. The Gapper is made from a solvent resistantthermoplastic elastomer, remains flexible and cushions your knuckle when holding the grip.It also helps prevent debris from being lodged into the open space and provides a more finishedlook to the rifle.
Simple Installation Instructions for the Ergo Gapper Slide the "U" shaped portion of the Gapper over the rear of the trigger guard with the longer sidepointing down and push it forward. If it can not be pressed in easily, try moistening it, or as a lastresort loosen the grip by untightening the grip mounting screw. After the Gapper is positioned allthe way forward retighten the mounting screw.

Excellent little ar accessory,
Excellent little ar accessory, and the price is reasonable, but I like the aluminum MagPul replacement trigger guard better. It's 20 bucks, but it just looks like it belongs on an AR, allows for a gloved finger, and fills the same gap. I never did like the standard plastic trigger guard.
Works great
I had been trying to decide whether to purchase a trigger guard or a grip to eliminate the opening that bites into the finger. I decided to give the gapper a try before spending the extra money. Glad that I did. Works great. Loosened the grip slightly and pushed it in carefully with an Allen wrench.
Extremely Easy Install, Instant Comfort
I have the Magpul MOE+ pistol grip on all my ARs. Light years ahead of the standard GI plastic grip (with the ever-annoying finger rest) on comfort. But the standard GI trigger guard setup still "bites" you. I've learned to accept it as part of shooting an AR. On a whim, I decided to order The Gapper as a "let's see"; they are inexpensive enough. Very much worth the couple bucks! Total change in comfort while hold the pistol grip. I no longer have to remind myself to slide my grip a little down to prevent the bite. Installation was simple; I didn't even try the push it in method. I slightly loosened the grip, popped it in, and retightened the grip. It literally takes seconds. If you have the standard GI metal trigger guard, these gappers are worth every penny.
Worth having
Worth having. I've never had an issue with the guard rubbing my finger, but for the low price, I figured I'd try it. It is a significant improvement, even if you have never noticed a problem before. I was installing a new grip at the same time, so I just installed it with the AR pistol grip off, and it was easy - it just pushes right on. If you have trouble installing, pull the grip off and then reinstall.
looks good
This little rubber insert was challenging to install in my Bushmaster M4 but was nice once it was in place. It needs to be a tight fit to keep in it place. After struggling with it for a while, I rubbed my oily fingers all over it and used a small wooden dowel to tuck it in. It's not going anywhere now and looks good - it finishes that gap area nicely.
Get one for each AR15 you own.
Get one for each AR you own. You'll wonder how/why you went so long with it. This device returns a huge back for the buck. These should be installed at the factory by every AR manufacturer!
the best $3.00 you can spend on your AR
This is most likely the best $3.00 you can spend on your AR grip if you use a standard trigger guard. I have them on all 4 of my current lowers, and they help with the bite. You might have to loosen the pistol grip just a bit (don't let the safety detent spring escape) to get the Gapper into position. I have never had to do any more than that on RRA, DMPS, and Oly Arms lowers.
One of the few aftermarket AR accessories that works.
The Gapper is one of the few aftermarket AR accessories that works. However, for the price of a hot glue stick, you can make your own. Inject hot glue into the gap and press it flat using a metal plate. Loosen the pistol grip and remove the "Gapper". Trim it to fit and reinstall everything. The best part is you can make several extras and keep them handy as extras or to give them to fellow shooters at carbine courses with bloody/raw fingers.
