Customer Ratings & Reviews
I purchased this scope for a Ruger 77/44 that I wanted to set up for my son's first bear hunt. Most of the hunting would be evenings in a tree stand deep in the woods, presenting real challenges for a traditional scope. Not so with the Trijicon. I was amazed by how well the scope performed in extremely low to no light conditions. I am not an optics expert, but I am pretty critical of most gear, and I must say that I was utterly impressed with this scope. Optics were more than clean enough for my standards, and the illuminated reticle is superb. I have Zeiss, Swarovski, Schmidt & Bender, and Leupold scopes on my rifles, and I would put this scope up against any of those for low to very low light hunting conditions. I like it so much that I am going to buy another one for my .338 Federal.
Very good 1-4x.
Very good 1-4x. It would be five stars, but at very close range, less than 5 or 7 feet, the picture is a bit blurry on the edges, likely due to parallax. The reticle is impressive and allows for close up shots and precision shots at a distance with the triangle tip. The green is very bright and easy to find under every condition I have put it against. Glass is clear as air, exactly what I expect from Trijicon.True 1x for quick acquisition. I definitely would recommend this scope for anyone looking for a 1-4x or something for 3-Gun.
As with all Trijicon products, quality is first-rate. I bought this scope for a .375 H&H Magnum custom bolt gun with a 20-inch barrel for moose and bear, although it would be just as useful as a flexible CQB scope on an AR-15. The field of view at 1x is huge, with impressive light gathering. Bonus is the ability to adjust the fiber-optic brightness for daytime use. A single post/triangle reticle is very intuitive and allows for an uncluttered view of the target. Great for a dangerous prey rifle (i.e., grizzly). Elevation and windage adjustments are hand adjustable and covered by sturdy caps. Downsides: scope is relatively large and a bit on the heavy side. But built like a tank and the optics are superb. Some axial distortion at edges at 1x, but not enough to disturb the "both eyes open" method of aiming, which is the sight's strong point.
Everything you need, nothing you don't
This rides on top of my Frankensteined AR, and I have to say I love it. Great, forgiving eye box. You almost have to be looking entirely outside of the scope to not see the reticle. Illumination is a no brainer: I never ever had a problem with not having enough brightness, and you can tone it down if need be. It's lightweight and much bang for the buck. For a 1-4x, look no further. I'd just throw one of LaRue Tactical's cattail on it. It has generous eye relief throughout the zoom range with no optical issues. Glass is excellent. I'm no snob, but it's better than any red dot and can hold its own against anyone else. I have it on an SPR-E LT139 mount. The reticle is a glorified red dot, except a triangle which gives a definitive aiming point. It works like a red dot but gives you magnification up to 4x. Reticle can't wash out.

Crystal clear lenses and
Crystal clear lenses and smooth adjustments from 1X to 4X. The box says its made in the USA, but the bottom of the scope it says made in Japan. Not a big issue to me because these scopes are made from a company that has combat-proven optics. But they are assembled in the USA. I would definitely recommend it if you have the money to spend. It works great in a swfa scope mount that is mounted on top of a LMT AR-15. The eye relief is perfect.

The Trijiocn TR24 was the shortest and lightest 1-4
The Trijiocn TR24 was the shortest and lightest 1-4x daytime illuminated scope I could find last year. All the other models I tried were too long to be mounted on an AK side rail mount. This scope is designed with field use in mind. No bulky/heavy battery compartment. Illumination is very bright under a sunny sky with the fiber optic system. The tritium element works as expected at night/indoors. The reticle will turn to black if looking at a bright light source from a dark room, which is normal. The triangle reticle version is not designed for bench-rest type shooting, but rather for fast point and shoot situations, like hunting/3-gun match. The triangle measures 4.3 MOA according to the manual, so rudimentary bullet drop compensation is possible. I eagerly await the next version with BDC feature.
I finally grew tired of
I finally grew tired of waiting for the green triangle version, so I thought I wouldn't lose much with the amber triangle. I feel I was right. This glass is very silky clear and built like a brick. At 1:1, the reticle is very quick, at 4x I can get really tight groups. My Trijicon TR24 now rides almost all the time on my AR.
One of the best 1-4x optics by one of the best manufacturers
I've been running this TR24 on my MK18, and have it in an American Defense RECON mount, and have gone through about 2k rounds with it mounted. My thoughts; The glass quality is exceptional, edge clarity is good as expected from Trijicon. The adjustments are 1/4 MOA, which makes fine tuning your Zero very easy. I had it on target within 10 minutes. Scope has held zero, and I haven't experienced any issues with it shifting between zoom settings. No batteries, plug and play with tritium inside and a fiber optic line on the Objective side of the optic. There is an included adjustment for how much light the Fiber Line is getting, I wish my ACOG had this feature! Of course, the downside is that when shooting from inside of a building, to an outside area during the daytime, your reticle will not be illuminated. I have grown used to this having used the TA31 however, so it was no learning curve. The draw to the TR24 is the variable power. You can have it set to an almost perfect 1x, for use in close range target acquisition and fast shooting, and move all the way up to 4x for longer range targets. The only downside to the variable power on this optic is that it's not terribly easy to adjust the zoom. I highly recommend you buy a "cat tail" to quickly adjust your zoom and save your fingers from extra work. The reticle I chose was the Red Triangle Post, which I find to be very easy to use within 300m. I'm not personally a fan of cluttered optics with BDC's and windage on SBR's, and this reticle lends itself well to my preferences. I wouldn't get this reticle if you want to hit targets accurately past 300m with ease, I find that the reticle does get in the way. One way I fixed this was to zero the tip of the triangle for 300m, and hold under for closer targets. All in all, if you're looking for a 1-4x that is well made, maintenence free, and effective, look no further than the TR24.
