Superlative Arms Adjustable Gas Block
What people are saying about the Superlative Arms Adjustable Gas Block:
The Best Adjustable Gas Block
The best Adjustable Gas Block design I've seen so far. Works perfectly on any length barrel. Quality materials and craftsmanship. Installed quickly, and alignment was perfectly matched to the ports and pre-drilled set screw dimple on my barrel. It makes the whole gas system run cooler and cleaner.
Good as they come
Perfect fit, smooth and positive clicks, and good range between clicks. This is my third Superlative Arms Adjustable Gas Block w/ bleed off, and I am happy equally with all 3. Particularly paired with the correct buffer/spring combo, you can cut recoil impulse down drastically AND render proper timing with this AR Gas Block. My 6.5 Creedmoor pushing 135gr bullets at 2960fps has the recoil of a .22lr and not a stitch more - crosshairs stay exactly on target every single shot.
I needed to change the gassing in a 6.5 Grendel and a 300blk. The Superlative Arms Adjustable Gas Block does the job. I did take off the handguard while setting it up, but they include a long hex key making it somewhat easy to adjust with the guard on.
I am well pleased with this gas block.
The Superlative Arms Adjustable Gas Block was an easy installation and simple instructions. It was effortless to get the timing of my rifle where I wanted it. The gas tube fit perfectly, and the set screws fit the original dimples on the barrel.
Adjustable gas block
Well made, came with the roll pin, set screws, and the Allen wrench for adjustment. The provided Allen wrench is long, which is helpful for adjustments with a full-length grip, eliminating the need to remove it.
Good Adjustable gas block
Had a gunsmith install the part. There are two ways to adjust this Gas Block. One is the bleed off, and the other is a restrictive system. Mine is set in a restrictive way. My 6.5 Creedmoor upper was over gassed, and this fixed the problem. The only reason for not five stars is that it is hard to tell when you are in the detent adjustment positions.
Great Fit for Small Forearm
I purchased this gas block to use on a .224 Valkyrie precision rifle build. The rifle is finished but hasn't had a chance to shoot yet. I bought this Superlative Arms Gas Block because it adjusts from the front, and the size fits in the slim forearm I used. The quality, fit, and finish are all excellent. If it functions as well as it looks, it will be a "home run."
I would buy it again
The Superlative Arms Adjustable Gas Block works excellent. Have two now will be buying more. Put the last one on an over gassed pistol length 300 blk out. Just running supersonic ammo, and this gas block tuned it beautifully. Shoots like a dream and the recoil are practically nonexistent!
Good, but I think the gas bleed off is pointless.
I am running the Superlative Arms Adjustable Gas Block on a BCM 20" SAM-R rifle length barrel with a JP SCS spring, and at eight clicks out from the bottom, it runs fantastic. This gas block is excellent, and I am only going to use it for gas restriction since I think bleeding off-gas is entirely pointless; I would much rather have more metal in the gas block where they drilled the bleed-off hole for more strength. Other than that, the finish is excellent. I found the detent to be not too precise and could be more positive, but it does appear that it will hold the setting. I have marked it just in case. I found this slipped on my barrel easier than my BCM gas block so that it could have tighter tolerances there. Overall it is a functional block. I like that I can access everything from the front with my 13" BCM rail installed without having to remove it to disassemble. I think the SLR rifle works adjustable is still my preferred choice since bleed off is not necessary.
Great Adjustable gas block
This is a large adjustable gas block. I had to install this on a .243 AR-10 that was severely over gassed. The gun was malfunctioning and wouldn't run. After installing the gas block and making a couple of quick adjustments, the gun ran flawlessly.
Used this to turn down the pressure on an over gassed, suppressed SBR with a BFS III trigger, even with an extra power spring and the most massive buffer the bolt was still bending bullets. This gas block fits tight, and the set screws are reliable, very well made. The wrench that comes with it is very long and has enough flex to work without taking off the suppressor (it adjusts from the front) the adj. screw is a bit small, but it has 30 set positions and is easy to manipulate. I'm thrilled, one of my buddies with a similar setup and issue liked it so much he purchased one too.
It works well, but not in the way they said
I put this on a DPMS, .308, that was over gassed with a suppressor. The design is supposed to bleed off excess gas. The instructions said that you should set it at max. Pressure (open 4.5 turns) then open it up till the bolt would not lock back, Then back off a little. I opened it up all the way (12 turns), and the bolt would still lock back. So I tried the other approach. I restricted the gas flow. I found that 1.5 turns worked well for unsuppressed, and one turn worked well for suppressed. A supplied Alan wrench makes it easy to change settings even with a long free float tube installed.
Quick and easy to use recommended
The Superlative Arms Adjustable Gas Block was a pleasure to use. The adjustment screw detents in place well. I only spent about 5 minutes correctly tuning my ar10, and now it recoils softer than my ar15. There wasn't any fiddling with Loctite to hold the adjustment screw in place. In the end, I highly recommend this AR Gas Block; it's definitely worth the price.
