Streamlight TLR 6 for the Glock 43
Let's cut to the chase: I'm not particularly fond of the Glock 43. However, if you're going to carry it, I'd suggest using it with the Streamlight TLR-6. While the Glock 43 has its merits as a minimalist, small-profile firearm, the TLR-6 light doesn't add much weight, but it does offer some advantages. I took it upon myself to try it out, carrying the Glock 43 equipped with the TLR-6 and testing it at the range. Frankly, the TLR-6 isn't essential, and its laser function wasn't of much use to me during my trials. The light itself is lightweight, about 1.5 ounces, and offers 100 lumens of light output, which, to be honest, is limited in range. But for closer encounters, like in homes or offices, it should suffice. While I advocate for having a handheld light source, having one attached to your firearm, especially one as non-bulky as the TLR-6, is beneficial. Surprisingly, I found that the TLR-6 improved the Glock 43's balance, making it slightly more ergonomic and comfortable to shoot. Do you absolutely need the TLR-6 for your Glock 43? No, but considering its advantages and its fairly affordable price, it might be a worthwhile addition, especially for a backup firearm. I personally wouldn't carry the Glock 43 with the TLR-6 as my primary, but as an auxiliary, sure.
Sub Compact Weapon Light Glock 43
The TLR-6 offers 100 lumens of light and includes a laser feature as well. Switching between light modes is easy: just press both buttons simultaneously. It has a decent battery life, giving about an hour of light use or up to 11 hours when just the laser is on. As far as performance goes, it's impressive for its size, but don't expect it to compete with larger, more powerful models. There are a few downsides. I wasn't fond of the side activation, preferring paddles instead. And while the unique battery choice is understandable given its compact design, it's still a bit inconvenient. Moreover, because it attaches to the trigger guard, you'll have slightly less space for your finger which can be a concern on smaller guns. In conclusion, the TLR-6 is a fantastic solution for smaller guns without rail systems. Streamlight is a trustworthy brand, offering solid products and reliable warranties.
It's no X300, but it fills a niche if you need a light on a micro...
I recently bought this light for my Glock 48, which is compatible with the 43/43X frame. I wasn't planning on using a weapon light, but this option was available and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, it wasn't the brightest light and compared to my X300 or M640 DF, it seemed quite weak. However, a light on my gun is better than none at all. The total package added very little to the length of my Glock 48 and didn't compromise my carry comfort. The laser was easy to adjust and held zero, but I wasn't sure if I would use it in a defensive situation. Although it may be useful as a training aid, it's not a tactically bright light. For my night job delivering for Grubhub, it's a better option than a handheld light. Positively identifying someone at night is crucial to prevent accidental shootings. I rated it 4 stars as I feel the light could be brighter to compete with current standards. The Crimson trace light on my mom's pistol is just as bright and smaller, using a 123A battery that I have on hand. Just because there isn't much competition in the Glock 48 weapon light market doesn't mean Streamlight should settle for an insufficient light.
A bit pricey, but the tlr6 g43x is essential
The TLR-6 light and laser has proven to be an essential accessory for my Glock 43X. Initially, I had difficulty controlling the recoil of my firearm, but the light helped to tame it, making it feel more like a larger model. More importantly, the laser helped me to correct my accuracy issue and improved my confidence in shooting. The button to turn on the laser/light is conveniently placed and I can easily activate it as I draw. I am extremely impressed with this product and cannot imagine using my G43X without it. The 100 lumen rating is plenty bright for indoor use, and while the installation process is a bit time-consuming, the three hex head screws make it simple enough. The switch system could be closer to the trigger guard, but it's still functional. The price is a bit steep, but considering the benefits it brings to my firearm, it's worth it. I would highly recommend this light and laser to anyone looking for a high-quality accessory for their Glock 43X.
Amazing addition to my G43X
When ordering a streamlight 69270 tlr-6, there's always the uncertainty of how it will perform once installed on your firearm. But this laser/light was a fantastic addition to my Glock 43X and fits perfectly. I also purchased an IWB holder specifically for it. The only thing I would have liked is a quick on/off button for momentary activation, but it's a minor detail. The light is top-notch and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a light for their G43x.
Glock 43 Light
The light fits perfectly on a Glock 43 if you install it correctly. The flashlight portion is decent enough, but the laser is incredible. It's easy to adjust the laser to the target. There is no need to remove the sight to clean the weapon or to change the batteries. Speaking of batteries, my only complaint is battery life if you use the flashlight a lot. It's held up well to 150 plus rounds, but you should check the screws, which require the tiny Allen wrench that comes with the unit. For a serviceable flashlight and a pretty good red laser, it is a good deal.
5.0 out of 5 stars Must Have for G43/42
This glock 43 light is a must-have accessorie. The Streamlight TLR 6 glock 43 is light weight, slimline and easy to use. There are multiple different holster options for the combination of light/laser and gun. The light is a bright white that casts a large cone of light rather than the standard beam that leaves a hot spot in the center. The light is plenty adequate for target identification out to 25 meters and casts a wide spread for excellent situational awareness. The laser is also a plus for unorthodox shooting positions or extreme close quarters and self-defense applications. The product is rugged and durable and has held up well to testing. Quite impressed with the product.
Fits my gun like a glove.
The TLR 6 Glock 43 Could use a more positive button press. Pressing it with the index finger can be awkward, But I get a positive connection from my support hand in a regular grip on the button on the other side. Lumens are perfect. Light up a room, and the laser is remarkably bright and distinct, even with the flashlight on—a problem my other laser faces. I looooove that this Glock laser light doesn't protrude from in front of the barrel. Unlike other Streamlight entries, I don't have to worry about the muzzle flash marring the top of the light.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great affordable and high quality light/laser
I carry the Streamlight tlr 6 on a Glock 43 and have about 200 rounds through the gun with this light on. This is a truly unique light. The light quality is good, not blindingly bright like a full-size weapon light, however. So if blinding power is essential to keep that in mind. I view the laser as a bonus as I typically do not believe in using them, though they have their place. If you are looking only for the laser function, I would still buy this light as it doesn't impact your grip like some laser-only options do. The price is outstanding, given Streamlight's reputation of quality, even though I am usually partial to their competitor when it comes to weapon lights. As a Police Officer, I will tell my fellow officers to be careful if you are using this in a duty situation as the light/laser combo look very similar to the TAZER. For that reason, I would like to see a green laser option, though power consumption may be an issue. A great feature of this light it that you can change the batteries without removing the light from the weapon. The bottom line is this is a excellent Glock 43 light and value from a respected company.
Way to go streamlight! Fits great on my Glock 43!
Best fitting laser/light combo I ever had. Got the Glock 43 for my every day carry and watched endless youtube reviews of this Streamlight tlr 6 Glock 43 and heard nothing but great fit. I was nervous about size in my pocket, but the TLR 6 Glock 43 does not make the gun feel any different. I am using a sticky holster that happens to fit with the light on the gun or off and have no complaints. Streamlight did an excellent job with this light and made it look Factory. Having both the laser and light makes me feel safer and more dependable on my g43 in the need I would ever need to use it at night.
Great set-up for a Glock 43
You won't be unhappy with TLR 6 Glock 43. It's an easy install and snaps/tightens very securely on the front of the Glock 43. The profile is perfect... very slim and the same width as the slide, so it doesn't stick out at all on the sides. The ambidextrous push on/off button is simple to activate, and you have your choice of setting it up for light, laser, or light and laser when you activate it (it doesn't have a strobe mode). It's not a super bright light (especially compared to the TLR-1), but it has size limitations, and I do not have any doubt is would cause a problem for an intruder if shined in their eyes. It's plenty bright enough to light up the room/hallway in a dark house. The laser is very nice and very simple to adjust with two Allen wrench slots in the housing for elevation and windage. The battery compartment is easy to use and you're able to swap the battery without having to uninstall the entire light. Overall an outstanding addition to a compact pistol.
Streamlight Gets it Right
Wow - if you're looking for any type of Glock 43 light stop here. The TLR 6 Glock 43 is well worth the $95-$100. The light is a very white, bright light with a great focal point. The buttons are also straightforward to reach and turn on. I've had other lights/lasers where the button is this tiny little thing, and you have to press 2 or 3 times to get it to turn on finally. The TLR-6 buttons are nice and big, and you don't have to press down very hard at all. They are on both sides of the light so that you can turn them on with your second hand's thumb, or your trigger finger. The laser also seems very high quality, and the red is visible during the day. Comparable to Viridian Laser's, if you have ever used one of those. I even like this laser a little bit better than Viridian because the brass bushings around the windage/elevation controls seem more protected and durable, so a little bonus. I don't use the laser very much, and there is an option to have just the light on, only the laser, or both light and laser together, depending on your preference. If you're on the fence about buying this, asking yourself if it's worth the money, I think once you hold it and put it on your gun you're going to wish you had bought it sooner. Ask a buddy if they have one and try it out, you'll probably love it right away as I did. It adds a lovely balance to the gun and evens the weight out very nicely. I've always thought the 43 especially felt a little "top-heavy" (if that makes any sense), and this fixes that problem for me. The gun now feels like it should have come out of the factory that way. So for me, that added the cherry on top.
