Keeping your shots on target is what it’s all about. Whether you require the quick target acquisition of a red dot or the range of a magnified optic, the Gen-3 Dog LegTM scope rail has you covered. Mounted directly over the receiver, the patented Dog LegTM scope rail with integral dust cover provides optimal balance, generous rail space, and protects delicate optics from barrel heat. The ingeniously simple and rugged design provides a rock solid ak scope mount for accuracy and a forward-hinged, quick release cover with rear cam lock design to preserve the AK’s field stripping qualities. The quick release hinge also allows the use of longer scopes without the need for quick detach mounts. Available in various configurations for standard pattern AK, Yugo, C39 and PSL rifles.

This is a rock solid mount for my Century Arms VSKA. Mounted a Vortex red dot and the backup iron sight. Installation was very easy with only minor adjustment needed. I don't plan on shooting my AK at 250 meters with this set up and I will not do push ups with my rifle so I think this will be very durable. Sorry Rob. Highly recommend!

As fast as they sell out, I could tell when I opened the box the product was rushed. The cover takedown pin wouldn't go through the hole on the hinge base. Backtracked installation steps and everything was good. Checked tolerances and that's where the problem was. Quality control is definitely lacking. Could drill it out but there's probably no way it would hold zero. Flawed right out of the package. Package wasn't damaged either and shipping was fast so good on MSP for that.

I think the best review that I can give is that I just ordered another one for my other classic AK-47. The installation was pretty easy - there are YouTube videos on removing the guide rods in the recoil spring and leaf sight if you need them. Everything seems like quality machining and fits perfectly, and this is a nice replacement for a loose dust cover. I like having the takedown pin to remove it and your optic for cleaning/maintenance. I also got the TWS peep sight to supplement the reflex optic that I got for it. This is a nice upgrade to mount modern optics on a classic rifle.
