The bolt pattern on our Remington 700 Short Action mount fits Short Action Remington 700 rifles (example 223, 308), as well as the 722 and 40x. Despite what you may have heard, the Remington 700 mount will NOT fit your Howa 1500 or Weatherby Vanguard. The bolt pattern is similar, but the remainder of the mount (ejection port, length, etc.) renders it useless on these two guns.
The middle spread is the distance between the two middle holes, center to center, on your receiver.
This Evolution Gun Works mount is available in 0, 15 and 20 MOA. Please see our FAQ section for more information on action lengths and MOA.
Picatinny cross slots run the full length of the rail, which gives the shooter flexibility when mounting scope rings and other accessories. The channel in the center reduces the overall mass of the mount, weighing in at 2-3oz on average. Also, in many cases, it will not obstruct usage of factory iron sights. EGW’s one piece scope mounts are the obvious choice for hunters and tactical shooters alike.
Add EGW’s Practical or HD Scope Rings to make it a complete overhaul!
This Evolution Gun Works mount is a Picatinny-style base and compatible with Picatinny or Weaver scope rings.
Installation: EGW recommends 20 inch lbs of torque and a drip of blue loctite (loctite is available through our website and is sold separately).

Customer Ratings & Reviews
Great scope mount
Great one-piece Picatinny rail mount for the Burris Ellinator Scope. How can you write 20 words on a one-piece part that has no moving parts? You have a choice you can buy this one-piece part or a two piece mount from Burris.
5.0 out of 5 stars No complaints
This is a pretty good Remington 700 short action Picatinny rail for the price. I am sure there are better rails out there, but I suspect that you will have to pay quite a bit more to get something noticeably better. If you don't want to spend a lot, then get this rail.
This is the one!
Put this scope mount on my Remington 700 .308, then topped it with a Nikon Buckmaster II BDC 4x12x40 .. Mounted like a dream.. Blue loctite to hold it secure and driving tacs at 300 yard..no play at all in the rail.. Looks bad ass too!
Rock solid picatinny rail for remington 700
If you are going to put a scope mount on your Remington 700, EGW is the way to go. Once you torque it down with a little blue thread lock, this thing will not move. Don't skimp out and go with aluminum or plastic varieties.
Excellent fit on a Remington
Mounted on a Remington 700 Magpul .308. Figured I would have to skim bed it, but it fit perfectly. Solid mount, and definitely worth the price. Burris rings fit it perfectly.
EGW Remington 700
This EGW scope base Remington 700 fits perfect and is durable. All the mounting screws lined up with no issues. It would be good if EGW would give the torque specs for mounting the base. All in all the mounting worked very well and at a great price.
Remington 700 Picatinny rail
I have this mounted on a Remington 700 .300 Win Mag. I was a little apprehensive about running an aluminum rail on a .300, but the price on this is much more reasonable than other similar options, and this has full lugs, unlike the Nightforce rails. Upon installation, I am pleased I went with this mount, as it seems to be VERY sturdy, and the machining is perfect. I have no worries about my hard-kicking .300 being able to move this rail.
Best Remington 700 Scope Mount
In my opinion, this is hands down the best base for the money. I did bed this base to a Remington 700 AAC-SD action for rock-solid stability. I would definitely recommend this base for long-range use.
Best Remington 700 Picatinny rail
The Remington 700 Picatinny rail is very solid. Measurements had tight tolerances (I measured with calipers...other brands with looser tolerances make me measure everything now). This scope mount has no problem handing handling recoil on a 300 short mag. I have been satisfied with this mount.
well made emington 700 Mount
The EGW Remington 700 Rail Mount is a rather nice and well made. The mount fits flush on my rifle and has a particularly hard coating on it. The screws on and the screws fit flush with the lower portion of the Picatinny rail.
