Primary Arms SLx 4-14x44mm FFP Rifle Scope - MIL-DOT

This rifle scope is part of our SLx optics line. SLx optics built our reputation for innovation, reliability and value. All SLx optics undergo rigorous field-testing during development to best serve you in any environment.

The Primary Arms 4-14x44mm rifle scope was our first step into first focal plane (FFP) optics and remains one of the most cost-effective options on the market. Having a reticle stay 'true' through the entire magnification range opens a world of possibility for hunters, marksman, and competitors everywhere. Add in "built like a tank" construction and a lifetime warranty, and it's easy to see why this scope is so popular.

    Features:

    • Traditional MIL-DOT reticle can be used to accurately range and holdover
    • First Focal Plane reticle stays true at all magnifications
    • High strength aircraft grade aluminum body
    • Side-adjustable parallax and fast focus eye piece for crisp view of the target and reticle
    • 30mm main tube compatible with your favorite rings and mounts
    • Tactile and audible 1/10 MIL windage and elevation adjustments

At the heart of the 4-14x44mm rifle scope is our first focal plane MIL-DOT reticle. Properly matched with MIL/MIL turret adjustments, this traditional reticle in use by military forces in almost every country allows shooters to range and find their hold overs without being forced to use caliber specific BDC systems. Each dot is .25 MILs with a full MIL measured from the center of one dot to the next. For shooters who want a proven reticle with wide spread military acceptance, the MIL-DOT is perfect for you.

A scope that won’t hold up to real world use won’t do any good, so we built our 4-14x44mm FFP tactical rifle scope to last with a heavy-duty aircraft grade 6063 aluminum body and 30mm main tube. Waterproof, shockproof, and fog resistant, this scope is perfectly at home on an AR-15 or your favorite hunting rifle. Even better, the MIL/MIL turrets track correctly through their full 17.5 MIL adjustment range, allowing for confident adjustments for shooters who prefer to count their clicks. With clear glass, heavy duty construction, and a true first focal plane reticle that can be leveraged at every magnification, the 4-14x44mm rifle scope from Primary Arms offers shooters a versatile and effective rifle scope, covered by our lifetime warranty!

    Great scope

I have not had too much experience in tactical ar scopes that didn't cost three times more than the rifle they are mounted on, but this scope is performing great mounted to 300 WM and is holding zero perfectly. The FFP is a really nice feature and the fact that the reticle and turrets are both in MILS is nice. Definitely the best glass for the price. I recommend this scope to anyone who wants to save some cash, it performs comparably to scopes costing twice as much out to 1000 yards.

What a great scope! It has nothing to do with $$.

I don't usually bother writing reviews for products, but this PA 4-14x44 FFP scope has left me proud after a two-day range trip this past weekend. Once we zeroed in this scope at 25 yard for my PWS AR-15, we ran through different ranges all the way up to 400 yards, and this scope has performed beyond all my expectation. I compared the image quality of this PA scope with my Vortex 6.5-20x44 and Bushnell Elite 4.5-30x50, and immediately it became obvious that the glass from this PA simply offers a much sharper image than the other two. The Vortex and Bushnell Elite have image distortion around the edge; yet this $200 PA FFP scope has nothing of the sorts, no matter how hard I was trying to justify their qualities based on their price. You can make precise AND accurate adjustments via the very well-engineered turrets on this scope. Not only do they offer a tactile and audible click when you dial in, but they also allowed me to do the box drill all the way up to 400 yards.

I can't imagine a better optic for the money

I bought this scope for a new Remington 700 in 7mm Rem Mag. I didn't have much money for this build so I relied upon Youtube budget build videos for reference. I liked what I heard from Military Arms Channel and went with this scope based on there 1000 yard for under $1000 project. Yesterday I took it out to shoot for the first time. I was able to get it zeroed in 10 rounds, but that was partly due to mistakes on my part. I bet I could have done it in 5 or less. I shot 50 rounds and it stayed true. It wasn't tracking the way I thought it should but I need more time and several more boxes to get to know it. I shout a few 1.5 MOA groups at 100 yards but I think that has more to do with the cheap stock and new barrel. With time I expect better results. The glass is very clear throughout the entire range of magnification. The turrets have nice crisp clicks. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I am very pleased with the design of this ar scope. The 44 objective pulls in a bright image; turret adjustments were easy to use and set the outer rings to zero after I brought the scope and rifle tight on the target zero. I had to crank the diopter out to its limit because of my failing eyesight, but it got me there lovely and crisp. The zoom adjustment was on the tight side, but I will not have to worry about it slipping.I like the front focal plane design. Reticle error is one less thing I have to worry about now when moving up for a more extended shot.I would recommend this scope to a friend. Very good value!

Good Value AR Scope for the Money

Got the scope last week and was pretty much exactly what I have come to expect from Marshall's group. The scope feels good in the hand and works as advertised. I took it out to 300 yards over the weekend and glass was nice a clear (not S&B clear but excellent for the price range). Clicks have a little mush in them but were positive. Ran a tracking test on it and it tracked perfectly. Overall I am thrilled with the optic. Only reason(s) it didn't get five stars was when resetting the turrets, the cap lines don't match perfectly to those on the scope body, and the turrets do not lock like on the PA 4-16x44. These are just minor, and the scope is a great value for the money.

    Not bad at all

FYI, I am sort of a scope snob (own 8 scopes with msrps from $500-1500 but too frugal to spend retail). Plan was to mount this on a Benjamin Marauder .25 airgun but decided to return it instead. Optics are quite clear, decent to the edges, clicks are audible and tactile, mildot reticle is finer than expected but a reasonable compromise. The scope is solid in weight and construction and appears to be a high value based on my limited exposure. I am impressed but its not the right ar scope for my application.

I compared this to a SS 10x HD, SS 12x, and a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x40. The glass is just as clear as the Bushnell and a touch clearer than the non-HD SS - just a tiny bit darker than the SS at 12+ magnification but not much. Not quite as clear as the SS HD but not that far from it, and way more than I expected for a scope in this price range. Turret clicks are crisp and precise (a bit better than the SS models) and the marks line up perfectly. Focus wheel turns easily and has a wide range of adjustments for excellent control. Reticle thickness is reasonable at max magnification while still being visible at minimum mag. What can I say? I can't find a thing I don't like about this scope. The initial impression is that PA has hit a home run with this one! I can't wait to mount it up on the ol' 308 and do the box test. At the price PA is asking, this has got to be the most bang-for-the-buck you can get in a AR scope. Great job!

Bought this ar scope to mount on a 6.5X284 varmint rifle after seeing a review on MAC (Military Arms Channel). Scope mounted and laser sighted, but not shot yet due to personal issues. I am looking forward to trying it out very much. I can say this that the scope has all the features I was looking for in a scope, and certainly seems very robust. I looks simply awesome mounted on the rifle (I also purchased a hood for the scope).

As budget scopes go, this thing is pretty amazing. I own several high dollar precision scopes and wanted a first focal plane, mil/mil scope for my hunting rifle since that's what I'm used to. The glass is very clear, even at full magnification. The scope seems to track accurately in the box test and hold zero on my lightweight hunting .308. Construction is solid but not overly heavy. My only complaint (and it is VERY minor) is that the ether box is a bit narrow but for the money, this thing is awesome. I could have spent double and gotten a lot less. First focal plane reticle was the icing on the cake.
