Customer Ratings & Reviews

best scope i have ever used
I purchased my Nightforce about two years ago now and have used and abused it. As for target use, it tracks perfectly passed box test with flying colors, and always returned to a perfect zero. Light transmission and clarity are top-notch. I killed a buck this year at 591 yards at first light in the back of a dark canyon. I was able to easily make out the buck's vitals for a clean kill. This scope has been in the rain and cold, and never has it fogged up on me. Couldn't be happier I will buy more.
Why write a review?
I don't know why some of you want to write a review before trying the product out before expressing your opinion. Also, a bunch of you give you a "STAR" rating based on the place of purchase customer service or salesperson, etc. The review should be for the product purchased only! When we want to know a user's point of view about a product, we read reviews. I glean the reviews of actual users, not idiots that want to see their name and article in print! I can't stand to read a review from someone that has just received the product and opened the box until they have used it for its original intent. Anyone can look at the item either in a store, on YouTube, or the internet. I want to know how well it does it's a job and the pros and cons of it. That's what this type of column is for. I own 3 NXS with NP-1 and NP-2 reticles. The NP-2 is in the 56mm, and the others are in 50mm. I can't ascertain any difference in light between the 56mm and the 50mm, although I'm sure a piece of scientific equipment can. I have Swarovski, Leica, Leupold and Nikon scopes as well and feel the NightForce is the best scope you can buy for long-range shooting, sans none!
Very nice scope
I have this mounted on a Savage 110BA in 338 Lapua and have taken shots out to a mile. This scope is very pricey, but the optical quality and zero stop turrets are fantastic. It returns to zero every time. I have used Leopold Mark IV's in the past and thought I would never switch from them, but these, in my opinion, are better.
Best scope I've ever owned
I talked with Nightforce's Customer Service several times before purchasing this scope, and they were always very helpful and never in a rush to get to their next call. Everything about this scope is top-notch: optics are crystal-clear, turrets are precise and linear, zero-stop returns to identical place every time, mounting is easy and solid (using the Nightforce Unimount), and the scope's construction is stout (and because this its a bit heavy). The MOAR reticle is very flexible with its hold-over, hold-under, and windage scales - all without getting in the way of the target. Yes it's pricy, but you do get what you pay for. My only regret is that I didn't get exactly this same scope but in 8-32x56 or even 12-42x56. The 'problem' with a scope like this is that it allows you to shoot so much further!
Great Scope!
It is obvious that this scope is well made and the optics are top quality. My son used this scope on a 308 this season to "Thread a needle" and take a nice South Texas 8pt. Completely satisfied and will buy other Nightforce scopes in the future.
TRULY THE MOST REMARKABLE SCOPE OUT.
This is truly the most remarkable scope that I have ever had the pleasure of using. The optics are crystal clear in low light conditions. The ZERO STOP function is another amazing plus for a tactical scope. You can go from long-range back to zero or one hundred yards without any guesswork. This scope is mounted on a BARRETT M99 416. It definitely withstands the recoil. One thousand-yard shots are no problem with this beauty. I am looking forward to the purchase of my next NIGHTFORCE SCOPE. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a top-quality scope without paying five to six thousand for one.
I use the Nightforce NXS on an AR platform
I use the Nightforce NXS on an AR platform 6.5 Grendel 24" barrel. If you can afford it, buy it, this is one sweet optic for any long-range distance shooting. Clarity is superb. Mine has the mlr reticle. This scope puts you right on target.
This scope is excellent
The Nightforce NXS 5.5-22×56 scope is excellent. Very rugged, knobs have a very, very good feel. Exudes an aura of quality throughout. Glass is some of the best. I can read a car license plate at 500 yards! Really super cool lit reticle. Zero stop is terrific. You always know where your zero is! Hi, Speed turrets allow 20 MOA per revolution. The scope has a generous 100 MOA of elevation adjustment. Criticisms? There is still some room for improvement. The scope is heavy, but this is because it is built rugged. The adjustment for the reticle light is inside, under the battery. The reticle light could go off automatically after an hour or so? (Hey why not this is the 21st century after all). The entire scope eyepiece turns when you adjust the magnification. All of these are nitpicking by me I know! My Nightforce scope is one of the best scopes in the world and is near the pinnacle of technological achievement. Way to go Nightforce and keep up the good work!
