Nightforce SHV 5-20×56 Rifle Scope
The most powerful of the Nightforce SHV series performs beautifully at both close and extended ranges on varmints, big game, and for making tight groups on paper.
You get outstanding clarity, crispness and color contrast at every magnification setting. It features a full 80 MOA of elevation adjustment, side parallax adjustment and ZeroSet™ technology which allows a quick return to your initial zero setting, regardless of how many elevation adjustments you’ve made.

Happy Camper
The overall impression of the Nightforce SHV 5-20x56 scope is very positive. I generally don't spend this much for rifle glass but decided that if I wanted to maximize the potential of my newly acquired Savage Stealth Evolution, good glass was mandatory. First, there are a lot of quality scopes in this price range from very reputable manufacturers. Of all the scopes I considered, the Nightforce MOAR illuminated reticle was the selling point. Glass Clarity, eye relief, tracking, and durability were also considerations in the purchasing decision. First time out to the range, after zeroing, my first two five-shot groups at 100 yards were .472 and .423. Being able to really see the targets were the main reason, in my opinion, for the excellent results. While expensive, I would highly recommend this scope for those that take their shooting seriously.
May buy a 2nd one!
I mounted this scope with the MOAR reticle on my new Remington 700 5R Milspec 223. This thing is a beast. It's big and heavy, and the glass is phenomenal. Better than my Burris XTRII and as good as if not better than any of my Leupolds. It's a pricey scope, so I decided not cheap out on the mounting hardware and went all Nightforce with their standard 0 moa rail and 30mm four-hole Picatinny rings. It's a nice solid setup. (I do wish the rail was steel instead of aluminum though.)
Nightforce quality at a bargain price
I shoot NRA midrange, long-range, and across the course optical matches using Eliseo and Tubb 2000 rifles. I have two NXS 5.5-22 and bought the SHV 5-20 for a new rifle. I need the side parallax adjustment for range changes. I like the fast focus feature of the SHV to tweak the clarity of the reticle. It may not be necessary, but I like it. I really like that the zero stop is standard on this model. It's an option on the NXS models. I like the knobs on the NXS better, but for the price, the SHV is a great buy.
Nightforce is worth it
Always wanted a Nightforce but couldn't afford it. When they came out with the SHV, I bit the bullet and ordered one. Put it on a 26" varmint contour barreled 7mm-08 with Warne rail and rings. It is clear and adjusts perfectly. I am delighted with this scope.
Excellent product even better Value
This Nightforce 5-20x56 scope is ideal for the eastern pine woods of Georgia where you may hunt an old logging road and need that extra bit of daylight as well as the sand hills of Nebraska where you may need the ability to see a target clearly 400 yards or more away... great product. After viewing "American Sniper" and noticing the "NightForce" logo on the scope in that film, i know I made a good choice.
Nightforce SHV 5-20x56 Review
I just installed this scope on an AR-10—what a wonderful addition to this rifle. The scope is the clearest I have ever had or used. Adjustments are very precise, and return to zero is exact. The ability to apply the zero stop to this scope was a major selling point for me. This scope has enabled me to tighten up my groups. You won't be disappointed with this purchase. Nightforce isn't cheap but, the quality is definitely worth it.
