    Buffer Technologies SKS Recoil Buffer

The SKS Recoil Buffer fits perfectly to the back of upper assembly and is created to the exacting tolerances to ensure a tight fit. An indentation in the Recoil Buffer itself offers a protected resting point for the recoil spring guide, which makes the assembly considerably simpler. The many variations of Chinese and Russians’ SKS will fit perfectly to this recoil buffer. And the SKS Recoil Buffer requires no special tools with the rest of the Recoil Buffer line.

Just like the Kalashnikov action, the SKS action is super-dependable, but that dependability comes with a price. Whenever you fire the SKS, the bolt carrier affects the interior of the upper cove. This operation affects the functionality of the SKS with time. However, with the installation of the SKS Recoil Buffer, you can completely stop the metal to metal impact of the bolt carrier to the receiver, which eliminates the shock the receiver gets. When you install a Recoil Buffer, you can also prevent any shock from reaching a scope.

What a Recoil Buffer can do for your gun
A recoil buffer is made to reduce the shock your bolt and receiver gets every time you discharge a cartridge. Each buffer is designed from a polyurethane with special shock-absorbing properties and simply serves as a shock absorber. Without the buffer, the bolt is driven back to make direct violent contact with a another steel. In time, this beating takes its toll on the firearm, thereby minimizing it’s accuracy, as well as making the action become very loose.

    SKS Buffer

I upgraded my SKS with several new parts. A scope mounts from Choate Machine...Very Solid A new Rex 1.5-5 Tec Scope only 6" long, so it doesn't interfere with spent brass ejection. New spring loaded firing pin which prevents "Slam Fire" And last but not least the Tec Buffer. It stops the metal to metal contact, which prevents ware, is quieter, and lightens the recoil...just a little. The buffer is a must for anyone who has an SKS. They are very inexpensive.

This protects the bolt spring end cap from slamming into the back of the dust cover so it doesn't get mashed down over time that can happen in less than 100 rounds or more. I recommend you use this in your SKS. Also, make sure to check out Murray's SKS firing pin replacement. It has a return spring that solves the slam fire problem on all SKS's made after 1950. Ever have a slam fire with your SKS when you let the bolt go to load in a round & BANG! It's a scary & dangerous problem. Murray's has the answer.

Nice addition to my Type 56 /26\ SKS

It took a minute to seat it back in the dust cover, and I found it helps to set the recoil spring assembly (guide tube side first) into the buffer before assembling back with bolt carrier onto the rifle. This buffer makes a noticeable difference shooting my 'well gassed' Sino-Soviet T56 with its super light chu wood stock. It still throws the cases hard off the tin roof at the range, but now it's not banging itself so hard, and easier to hold on target. Not that recoil is something you think to complain about with an SKS, but control could be, and this helps. It'll run without it but try one, and you too will appreciate what it does to smooth out the bolt cycle.

Top Cover Buffer Has a Great tight Fit in the Dust Cover, Easily Installed, I did Feel Less Recoil & It Stopped the Charge Spring Slap completely. I also installed the H style Lower Receiver Buffer, using the two Buffers together made a drastic difference in felt recoil and re-acquisition of the target between shots, I would recommend using both Styles as one protects the top cover from charge spring and one protects the Lower Receiver and Bolt. Increase the life of your SKS Investment uses these Buffers.

Fits right at the rear of the SKS removable cover and the return spring fit right in it. The cover is just reinstalled and the buffer works just fine.

It fits tight. Then I thought, would I want it loose.... Works great. I even think the recoil is lighter.
