Compared to the 'industry standard,' the Atlas bipod is better in every category. It has a higher price tag, but in my opinion, it beats the Harris Bipod on cost too. It is a far better value for the dollar. It is smaller, lighter, stronger, more quiet, more simple, and more durable. The engineering, materials, and workmanship are excellent. I've used it on a 12 lbs Surgeon 338 LM, a 9 lbs R700 308 Win, and a 6 lbs AR15 5.56 N. Pre-loading, recoil control, and muzzle jump are no issues. I use 1913 rails on my rifles. The adjustable BT10-LW17 QD Lever mount option from American Defense is well worth the extra coin also. I recommend using a flat sandbag or padded mat under the feet if shooting from a hard surface to dampen any adverse change in vibratory harmonics. The only improvement would be to blacken the stainless inner legs that show when the legs are extended. It would also be a nice option if other anodized colors were available. However, with the current demand, it is most likely impractical for the foreseeable future. Until you put an Atlas Bipod in your hands and on your rifle, you can never appreciate the difference.

You don't have to own a Mercedes when a Camry gets you from point A to point B, but it's darn nice when you do. Springs? Nope. Do you need them? Nope. Is it super easy to adjust? Yup. Does it lock firmly in place? Yup. Are all the parts made with precision? Yup. Does the QD mount attach solidly, and is it easy to adjust the tension? Yup. I've been in software development for 40 years, so I know when stuff is well thought through and built with pride. The smooth design illustrates brilliant minds at work, refining each piece until it's perfect in form and function. Oh, and does it sting a little when you look at the price? Yup, but it's worth every penny.

I bought the Atlas BT10 LW17 Bipod to replace my Harris bipod, which is now on my son's rifle (because he liked it so much). This is a very handy bipod, light, strong, and very user-friendly. I've used it at the range and in the woods, and it doesn't get caught in the vines. It stays where you set it and has options for the pads that make it well suited for field use. This was suggested by my marine corps brother.

These Atlas Bipods are the best bipods on the business. The construction is top-notch, the features are all there and tested to work. I made the change from a Harris Bipods and would not look back. All though the price on one of these is considerably higher, you won't find a more suitable bipod on the business. The BT10-LW17 also come with a throw lever, another great feature that makes it a breeze to switch the bipod between rifles. This is a Must-have AR Accessory to have if you are serious about shooting.

I mounted the Atlas Bipod BT10-LW17 on a long-range benchrest AR, and it's excellent in that role. I've had an earlier model of the Atlas for several years, and have been leaning forward on it, placing tension on the legs for at least a thousand rounds with no adverse effects, so I bought this new model for another rifle. It's is as robust and has an enhanced push-button system for opening the legs. Harris bipods are pretty good and are definitely quicker to deploy, but the clumsy way of attaching them to a 1913 rail, coupled with their 20th-century appearance, made the Atlas the obvious choice for my 21st-century rifle.

I was surprised by it's little size but it's well made and it's perfect for bench shooting a scar 17H. Attaches well and holds position.

I love this bipod. Worth the money and great build quality

very pleased with this bipod. light weight & compact, virtually unnoticeable when closed up and firing free hand on my DMR. The QR lever is another option which I like as well. Very easy to mount and dismount. Bi pod is very strong and durable under fire with a multitude of position settings which I have not yet begun to utilize. Very happy with this choice for my build.

If you're looking for a heavy duty bipod designed for rail use with the capability for all environments, this is one of the best choices for the money. Well worth the effort to modify any swivel based bipod platform.
