    Primary Arms 1-8X Scope with Patented ACSS 5.56 / 5.45 / .308 Reticle

    Primary Arms does it again!
Primary Arms took our favorite 1-6x variable scope back to the lab, and the engineers crammed in even more magnification. Now it’s a 1-8x! Look through it, and you’ll find the patented ACSS® reticle combining bullet drop compensation, wind holds and moving target leads in one easy to use the system. The second focal plane design is robust and straightforward. The ACSS reticle stays the same size regardless of power setting, so you'll need to crank it up to 8x magnification to use its advanced features. This scope is very fast and instinctive from 0 – 300 yards, and very precise from 300-800 yards.

The brightness knob on the left side of the tube illuminates the center reticle through 12 brightness settings using the included CR2032 battery. This tough scope is waterproof, fog resistant, and covered by a 3-year warranty. Flip up caps are included, and a “cat tail” scope lever is available from 3 Gun Stuff (product code GS-460).

Great scope for the price and maybe even double

I put this scope on my MCX, and used 55gr and 75gr bullets. Glass is clear, knobs are good, and zeroing was easy. What makes this scope is the reticle; hold over are by far the best I have seen on any 1-6 or 1-8, heck any scope. I was hitting steel targets at 400 yards with the 55gr and 500 to 600 yards with the 75gr. You can't get a scope this good for the price, very good deal. If I had a concern, it would be durability but only time will tell; it seems to be constructed very well.

Awesome scope for an all-around AR15 close and mid range applications. Awesome reticle. That’s the main reason to get this scope for the awesomeness of the reticle. Pretty light if you compare a red dot and a magnifier to it.

    Best BDC Scope Ever

I bought this Primary Arms 1-8x24mm SFP Riflescope for my AR-15 in 6.5 Grendel. It is daylight bright with the illumination and almost a true one power but just slightly larger to notice its not exactly 1 power. It is still usable in 1 power with both eyes open, though. After zeroing it for my 6.5 Hornady Black ammo, I was easy hitting 8" steel plates at 400 and 500 yards using the etched holdover lines. I also like the caps that come with the scope. They are nicer than butler creek. The glass is also very clear and usable, especially for an optic in this price range.

    Amazing Scope for the Money!

When it comes to firearms and accessories, I always abide by the age old saying that you get what you pay for. Its tough to bring quality optics to market at affordable prices and even tougher to go against big names such Trijicon, Vortex, Leupold, and even Nightforce. When Primary Arms brought out the 1-8 ACSS SFP scope, I was hesitant to jump on the train at am optic coming in <$400 in a market ruled by $650-1000 scopes. Surely this couldn't compete, and sacrifices had to be made to come in at that price point. Well, I was wrong. Reading and watching countless reviews with nothing but good things to say with this Primary Arms optic, I decided to throw the dice and pick one up. Well, what do I have to say other than WOW... This optic has clear glass, and I mean clear glass. You will notice this right away. Now, its not Leupold Mark 4 or Nightforce clear, but you will have a hard time noticing differences with scopes such as the Vortex Razor HD, which come in at almost 3 times the price. FOV is another big thing. This being a 24mm eyebox, it gives you a FOV right up there with something like the Razor, which is 26mm, and I would say it's right there with the Vortex Viper line, the Leupold VXR line, and dare to say right there with the Trijicon Acupoint. Eye relief is very forgiving, and you will only notice your eye relief starts to narrow past the 6x mark. The ACCS reticle is phenomenal and gives you everything you need for quick ranging without cluttering up your FOV. This was my biggest complaint with scopes such as the Viper PST, which to me, had an unusable BDC reticle. The illumination is daylight usable but nowhere near something like a Leupold VXR with the Firedot or a dual illuminated Trijicon Accupower/Acupoint. It's good, though, and you have the etched reticle which is easily usable. The cons: Well, you don't have the exposed turrets like, say, the Viper PST. Now, it would be tactical to have them, but if you are using this as a fighting rifle or 3-gun rifle, you aren't going to be making windage or elevation adjustments on the fly anyways. And the only other thing they could do better is to put off settings between each illumination setting so that you can power the scope off and click right back to your last setting. Other than that, very solid scope. Throw this in an American Defense mount and go. I'm running this on a SCAR16 currently, and it's doing great. We all know that SCARs are hard on optics—great scope for the cash.

Good AR Scope at a Good price

After a couple of trips to the range, this is my opinion. Construction seems sturdy and mechanically sound. Glass is clear at all magnifications. The reticle is very useful, and so far the BDC and ranging marks all seem very accurate. The only drawback for me, is the change in eye releif from 1x to 8x. While it is normal for most variable optics to have a change, this scope seems to be more pronounced. On my next trip I'll try to measure the difference and edit this review—all in all a very good optic at a reasonable price.

Typical AR platform. CQB to 400yd versatile. You could not go from a premium to this scope very quickly. Lens has distortion around the edge but if you do not type A, it does the job well.

I would by this scope again if I needed another.

I first purchased a 1-6x24 Primary Arms scope to use on an A4 style AR in 223/5.56 and I loved it. I then purchased the 1-8x24 on an 18" barrel AR that I built in 6.5 Grendel for deer hunting. I love this scope. The glass is clear as crystal, and I like the ACSS reticle. Leave set on one power and light up the reticle, like a red dot. What I like is when it is early morning or very late evening when you can just barely see a deer. You can turn the light on in the reticle on # 1 or 2 and see the reticle, but it does not wash out the deer, so you can precisely place your shot. This scope is TOUGH. From day one, I mounted it on my rifle with a Burris PEPR mount and zeroed in the scope. It has been on the money. For two years, when scouting throughout the year and during hunting season, It has rode in the rifle rack of a four-wheeler in some of the roughest mount trails you would want to be on. It has been carried up one mountainside and down the other. Rode in the front seat and behind my truck's seat over some rough roads. I been bumped and knocked around while on a sling on my back, dragging deer, etc. NEVER have I had to fool with it? The question is, ask, I would recommend it to a friend. Shoot, yes I would.
