We knew our flagship Gen II 1-6x24 would be a tough act to follow, so we worked hard to make incremental but real improvements. The Gen III is 18mm shorter (10.04in long), weighs 1.88 ounces less (16.9 oz. total), and has an additional 10 MOA of internal adjustment compared to the older model. The ACSS® reticle has also been improved, now featuring a chevron center aiming point rather than a dot.

Partial red reticle illumination is provided by a single (included) CR2032 battery, and a spare battery is included inside the windage turret cap. A total of 11 settings take the reticle all the way up to daylight bright. All lenses are fully multicoated for maximum light transmission and the 6063 aluminum body is Type II hard anodized in matte black.

    Great scope

Scope exceeded expectations at first glance. I haven’t shot it yet but that will be tomorrow hopefully. Clarity is amazing and love the ACSS reticle. Would not recommend this scope though. If I had to do it over again, I would get the 1-8FFP. Also sad at the lack of a sticker. I can very much live with those complaints though.

This AR scope competes and excels above many $1000 scopes.

The ACSS reticle takes the best of BDC and range estimation and combines then into a single lens, then combines a precision mark with a quick acquisition semi-circle for close quarters. I tested this scope at the same time I tested a binary trigger. The scope made it easy to recover and stay on target for rapid two shot strings. At close range, just put the semi-circle on center mass and pull the trigger. The chevron also made precision shots easy. I found the glass to be clear and the lower settings on the illuminated reticle to work well in low light situations. I personally think the higher settings on the illumination start to distort and blur the reticle, but that could just be my eyesight since I have astigmatism. The instructions are little confusing but there are a few videos that explain the reticle very well. Overall, I think our troops could benefit from this scope and it would be interesting if it were actually tested it in real combat.

    Amazing AR Scope!

I decided to go with this scope after countless hours of research, and having great past experiences with Primary Arms. Their customer service and fast shipping has earned my business. The scope is of very high quality and the reticle is absolutely amazing. I mounted it on an American Defense Scout and couldn't be happier with this product. It was between this and the Vortex Strike Eagle. The ACSS reticle was far more appealing to me, and having the confidence of Primary Arms lifetime warranty helped make my decision very easy. My friends have decided to purchase this scope as well after seeing it in person. You will not regret buying this product. Thank you Primary Arms!

Fantastic scope. I have only put 300 rounds through my AR with it mounted, but so far it's perfect. The farthest distance I had a chance to shoot was 300 yards give or take a few. The auto-ranging was easy to use and had no problem hitting 12" steel. 1x magnification is not quite 1x, just a little more but still had no problem shooting fast at close range. It is maybe a little more than 90% as fast within 20 yards as my Primary arms micro dot and about equal out to 50 yards, but beyond that, having the ability to turn the magnification up makes it significantly faster to acquire targets at range. Only change I made was adding a breakaway nylon coaster (throw lever) which makes changing magnification much faster. Absolutely no regrets, buy this AR scope.

    Ok for the price.

The reticle is way better than I thought it would be. The new chevron allows for precise shooting. The scope is very clear but on 1x there is some washing around the outside of the glass. The illumination is useless on less than 4 even at night and there is no off between brightness settings. It is also very heavy. I would have gave 3 stars for the weight, but I knew before ordering it, and it's on par with other scopes in its class. I'm kind of disappointed due to the build I put it on because I spent a good bit extra $ on keeping it light weight.

So far, so good with this AR-15 scope. Glass seems to be clearly presenting the rifle out in the back yard. It doesn't have a completely true 1x (some SLIGHT magnification at 1 power) but is totally doable with both eyes open so long as you're looking more than about 5 yards ahead. Illumination is super bright even in the daylight; I wish there was an off button between each setting. Turret clicks feel solid and move with a positive, tactile click. Magnification ring moves smoothly with just the right amount of resistance. There's really no frills with this scope, it's all business with that ACSS reticle inside. Only time will tell with build quality, but with PA's warranty and this scope's rock solid reputation you can't beat it for the price. I cannot wait to take it to the range and try out the BDC.

I got to use this optic on a BCM AR15 in a charity match and was very impressed. We were engaging 6" or 8" plates from 250yds out to 326yds. The reticle was very easy to use and very accurate with the subtensions. The illumination was very crisp and clear as well. I am strongly considering this optic for my personal AR. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I don't have much time behind the optic. However, Primary Arms always has great customer service and super fast shipping

First time reviewer/First time AR user (Ruger AR-556) GREAT SCOPE !!

After seeing a review about this scope on You Tube by 'sootch00', man it seemed a natural choice for my newly purchase Ruger AR-556. Am new shooter, sport and target only as I do not hunt since Viet Nam but I can't wait to get it on the rifle and use it. I researched several reviewers on You Tube and every one seemed to have the exact same thing to say - Great scope/excellent quality !!! That made the deal for me I would give it a very high recommendation but, I have not yet got to use it. Especially for someone my age of 70 with less than perfect vision God Bless

Great Variable AR Scope with Superb Reticle

This is my first variable-power scope. My go-to optic has been a Vortex Spitfire 3x up to this point. After reading and viewing reviews, I chose this over the Strike Eagle, and over other scopes costing exponentially more. I mounted it on a POF Renegade+ with an AmDef Recon mount. Took it to a 4-night rifle class. Amazing results! Hitting steel at 400 yards, head shots at 50. Good eye relief for fast target acquisition. I'm near-sighted and keep the power at 3x most of the time. Scope is awesome.

    Pleasantly Surprised and Quite Impressed!

First, I'm a bit of a scope snob. Not because I'm independently wealthy, but because I've always lived by the "buy once, cry once" philosophy. If the scope didn't start in the $800 range, I didn't give it a second look. I didn't want to replace it in a year or end up wishing I'd paid a little more for better glass. What good is an accurate rifle if you can't see through the optic? I also discounted Chinese-made scopes contracted out by companies that were not in the scope-making business (think Vortex, Leupold, Burris). I now own a PA 1-6x Gen 3, PA 1-8x, and PA 4-14x. Primary Arms has put all these reservations to rest! Is the glass or eyebox as nice as my $1000 1-6x FFP AR-15 scope? No, but it gives it a run for the money and is $700 cheaper! I am very happy with this scope. So, if you were like me agonizing about whether or not this scope was worth spending your hard-earned money on, DOUBT NO LONGER!
