    OK but not great

I have had a number of the original Fastfire sights for a lot of years and been very happy with them. Thought I would try this one with the new features but really nothing that is exciting. The levels of brightness are OK but not as adjustable as I would like. The multiple reticles really do nothing for handgun shooting as far as I’m concerned. The provided dust cover needs to be screwed in place and only covers the back of the site so I’m not exactly happy with that arrangement either. I like the easily removable covers. I do like the larger lens however the additional cost for the newer features that I don’t see valuable will prevent me from buying another one.

    Premium Reflex With Premium Features

With so many manufacturers flooding the market with Red Dot Reflex Sights, it can be challenging to discern which offer the best value and durability. Burris' Fastfire lineup has long been known for its solid build quality, long battery life, and value pricing. However, the Fastfire 4 has taken a significant evolutionary leap that is sure to turn heads. The optic has undergone a substantial redesign to give it a much sleeker and modern appearance. The wider lens, new angles, and aggressive lines make it an ideal match for the latest pistols with similar design cues. Burris also added a wide array of crisp, bright reticle options that are useful in various applications. The battery compartment is now conveniently located just behind the lens, making it accessible without having to unmount the optic. Additionally, the included shroud emulates an enclosed reflex and keeps the sight clear of debris and some moisture. While it doesn't create a complete seal, the shroud is still effective in most situations to keep crud out. The Fastfire 4 offers excellent battery life, with up to 26,000 hours on the medium setting, an included low-profile pic rail mount, and a price of under $350. This makes it a serious competitor to other heavy hitters like Holosun and Trijicon. Burris did a fantastic job with the Fastfire 4, packing it with features not typically found with most manufacturers. It's an excellent optic, and I'm excited to see how these design and feature elements make their way into their upcoming lineup.

    Fitment Issues, Great features

The Great Red Dot is missing the shake awake feature. My primary challenge was finding a suitable fit for the dot and the enclosed hood to shield the emitter. As far as I know, only two firearms are compatible with the dot and hood: the Canik TPSFX (with optic cut) and the Beretta APX full-size Gen 2. I have currently installed the dot on my Rival Arms Slide Doctor Optic cut (which does not work with the hood). I have tried to fit other OEM models, such as the Glock MOS Plate 01 (which does not work with the hood) and the IWI Masada Venom Plate (which also does not work with the hood). In general, I am dissatisfied with the price, but the optic is fantastic if all of its features can be used.

    Best multi use red dot

I shoot competitive Bullseye and steel with my 10/22 Volquartsen rifle. I needed a sight with both a three moa dot for Bullseye and a huge dot for Steel so I wouldn't have to switch up using two different sights. The Burris fast fire 4 is perfect for this situation. It also has a big window. One of my better investments !
