Elzetta ZFH1500 Frequently Asked Questions:
Will the Elzetta ZFH1500 remain solid when the gun barrel gets hot? - Yes, tens of thousands of service and extensive testing units have proven that the Elzetta ZFH1500 will withstand extreme abuse and hot barrel temperatures.
What flashlights will work with Elzetta ZFH1500 Tactical Flashlight Mount?
Every Elzetta ZFH1500 comes with Sizing Adapters, giving the Flashlight Holder the ability to mount flashlights from 0.7 to 1.1 inches in diameter (18 to 27 mm). This includes flashlights from popular manufacturers such as InForce®, Streamlight®, Pelican®, Laser Devices®, SureFire®, and of course, Elzetta Flashlights. (Sizing Adapters are not required when using an Elzetta Flashlight or other 1-inch Light.)
What advantage does the Quick-Release Thumb Screw offer?
The Quick-Release Thumb Screw allows flashlights to be installed and removed rapidly and without tools. It also provides a more robust clamping mechanism while retaining the nut on the device. The Thumb Screw Model is highly recommended.
Will the Elzetta ZFH1500 Tactical Flashlight Mount fit rifles equipped with a bayonet lug?
Yes, the ZFH1500 is designed to fit around the standard bayonet lug found on AR15, M4, and M16 rifles. It will also fit post-ban front sight bases without a bayonet lug.
Will the Elzetta ZFH1500 Tactical Flashlight Mount work with a side-mounted front sling swivel?
An M4-style front sight base (FSB) mounted sling swivel, such as found on Colt 6920 carbine, must be removed to attach an Elzetta ZFH1500 Tactical Flashlight Mount. For those wanting a side-mounted FSB sling swivel with the Elzetta ZFH1500, the ZSS1500 QD Side Sling Kit provides a quick-detach heavy duty sling swivel that may be attached to either side of the Elzetta ZFH1500.
From what material is the ZFH1500 Tactical Flashlight Mount made?
The Elzetta ZFH1500 is made from an advanced glass-filled polymer.
What are the advantages of this material?
This glass-filled polymer provides outstanding durability, impact resistance, scratch resistance and light weight. It also withstands high temperatures, vibration, and most chemicals.
How much does the Elzetta ZFH1500 Tactical Flashlight Mount weigh? -
The ZFH1500 with hardware weighs only 2.8 oz (79 g).
Is there a way to mount an additional accessory to the ZFH1500 Tactical Flashlight Mount?
While no rails are required to attach the Elzetta ZFH1500 to the weapon, with the Elzetta ZPR1500 kit, other rail-mounted accessories (such as sub-compact lasers) may be attached to the side of the Flashlight Mount. (Elzetta ZPR1500 sold separately.)
Will attaching a sling on the front sling swivel interfere with the use of the ZFH1500 Tactical Flashlight Mount?
No, Elzetta designed the ZFH1500 to work in various configurations. When the flashlight is mounted rearward (with the tailcap exposed), the sling swivel (with or without a sling attached) will activate the push-button switch of the flashlight. When the flashlight is mounted with the tailcap recessed into the ZFH1500 body, the push-button switch is protected from the sling swivel while the tailcap of the flashlight is still accessible through the skeleton hole in the ZFH1500 body.
Will the Elzetta ZFH1500 Tactical Flashlight Mount work with the Magpul MOE Handguard?
Yes, the Elzetta ZFH1500 fits perfectly with the standard Magpul MOE Handguards. It does not fit SL models.

Will the Elzetta ZFH1500 Tactical Flashlight Mount work with my barrel?
Yes, the ZFH1500 will work on any AR15, M4, or M16 with a standard A2 front sight base (FSB) regardless of barrel diameter or profile. This includes M4, government, pencil, lightweight, and heavy barrel (HBAR) profiles.
Will the Elzetta ZFH1500 fit a Ruger AR556?
No, the Ruger AR556 does not have a standard A2 front sight base and is therefore not compatible.
Will my AR15 fit in its storage case and vehicle rack when fitted with an Elzetta ZFH1500 Tactical Flashlight Mount?
Yes, the ZFH1500’s center line mounting position preserves the slim profile of the AR15 rifle, allowing storage in most gun cases and vehicle racks
Will the Elzetta ZFH1500 Tactical Flashlight Mount fit an Airsoft gun?
Yes, the ZFH1500 is a flashlight holder that will fit many Airsoft AR15/M4 replica rifles. Some may require minor modification as the replica front sight base (FSB) may not be exactly to spec.

Customer Ratings & Reviews
Fit is terrible
I tried mounting this on a fairly common run of the mill M4 mid priced AR, one that was claimed to fit this flashlight mount. Well it doesn't. Its not really even close. Sizing appears to be way off as in the dimensions of the barrel and the spacing in the front sight "triangle". I mean nothing really lines up. It will take a lot of manual fitting to make this work. I own other mounts by this company and was always impressed with the products but someone really messed this one up.
M&P 15 Sport 2 light mount
An easy way to attach a flashlight to my M&P 15 Sport 2
Will not fit.
I loved the ideal. But it will not fit a very popular AR15 the Ruger 556. I returned it the same day I received it. There should be a statement made on your sight about this model not working. I had to pay to send it back. I'm not sure if my card has been credited. No statement from your company. All of this could have been avoided by say this model will not fit the Ruger 556.
A2 Sight mount for tactical flashlight
If you have AR-15 with the original A2 Sight and you want to keep or have to keep the original handguard. Then this is the best mount for a tactical flashlight.
Love this AR light mount
Love this Elzetta AR light Mount. It has a tight hold of the light and its out of the way. And the on button is at my fingertips. I like this verses the side mount (no shadows on one side) except on top, but it protects you from any glare not enough to block the beam as it is far forward.
The mount and the rail are PLASTIC--would not have purchased if I realized this.
I did not realize the items were plastic (okay, polymer). I thought they were metal. The mount itself is okay, but was very difficult to fit on a S&W MP AR-15. It was very tight. The problem was the rail. Plastic slides on plastic. There was no way to tighten the screws tight enough to keep the plastic rail from sliding on the plastic mount. No way. Anything you mount on the rail will be subject to movement. This is not acceptable. There are other tri-rail products out there that are metal, fit much better, do not move, and provide a solid metal rail to mount devices to.
Great way to mount a light on a AR A2
This mount is excellent for your AR-15 with the original A2 Sight. Otherwise, you will seed to use you hand guard rails. It is a perfect AR15 Accessory, was easy mount and fit flawlessly. The only problem I had was that the flashlight I had did not fit in the holder even with their inserts, but I fixed that by wrapping electrical tape around my flashlight till I got a snug. Other than that it runs fine on my AR.
nice add on
this mount is a really nice piece of workmanship.

Elzetta ZFH1500 Tactical Flashlight Mount for AR-15
Just what I needed!
Wanted to mount a light on my M&P 15 AR without breaking the bank. This Elzetta moont was perfect!
Now I'm ready to clear that dark building.
The product was as advertised. I have no complaints. I had to send it back because the unit does not work on a Ruger 556. Anyway, I sent it back and only received a partial refund. I guess if you open the package to they have they are able to deduct whatever amount they feel is necessary.. Of course, I opened the package. How else would I know if it works. I packed it back up exactly how it came to me, so there should have been no reason for any deductions from the full purchase cost. Anyway, I would recommend the product, but if you are not sure it would work for you, I would buy it from another seller. At least you will have an opportunity to get your entire purchase cost.
