We machine these in our shop utilizing one of our USA-made Fadal machining focuses. Subsequent to machining, the mounts are tumbled, sand impacted, and Type II anodized for enduring strength.

EGW produces scope mounts for many rifles, and if they all fit as well as the one for the Ruger No1, it is a reliable choice. It is also reassuring to see the "Made in America" tag. The Ruger No1 rifle does not have any options for moving the scope further to the rear, making this mount a great solution. The mount fits exceptionally well.

Ruger rifles have a limitation on scope bases and rails. Specifically, the Ruger No. 1 Varminters require the purchase of two different ring heights. This is due to the short falling block action of the No. 1, which requires one scope base on the action and another on the barrel. The best solution for this issue is the Evolution Gun Works' Picatinny mount, which provides a perfect fit as shown in the accompanying picture.

I am very happy to see a Picatinny mount for the Ruger # 1 varminter. The rail fits well, and I have had no problems mounting or loosening from recoil. This is a great enhancement over the Ruger factory rings
