I've faced challenges getting this mount securely fastened onto my upper, but once it's on, it stays put. The mount works exceptionally well with the fastfire red dot. Although it can be difficult to tighten sufficiently, the mount fits flawlessly and tightly, eliminating concerns about it coming loose or the screws backing out during a hunt, potentially resulting in the loss of your optic. It's important not to get too frustrated while attempting to tighten the mount. Keep using the provided wrench or use a set of torque wrenches to tighten the screws as much as possible. Just make sure you've positioned the sight correctly before embarking on this task to avoid having to repeat the process.

My red dot sight was unusable when mounted on my Mec-Tec conversion, and I needed a riser to raise the sight. I decided to purchase this product, and I'm happy to report that it was the right choice. The riser fit perfectly onto the Mec-Tec rail and raised the red dot to the optimal height. The product's quality is satisfactory, and if you torque the screws to the specified range, it mounts securely. However, it's essential to remember to tighten the screws incrementally by going back and forth from one screw to the next, rather than attempting to fully torque one screw before moving on to the next. This method ensures that the mount clamps evenly and allows each screw to be torqued properly.

My experience with this rail was identical to that of other reviewers. Upon placing the riser on the rail and tightening it with the provided tool, it would slide around 3-4 millimeters in either direction. This frustrating situation often leads one to consider returning the product or tossing it in the trash while cursing Burris and swearing off their products for good. The provided tool is not effective for the task at hand. It only tightens the rail enough to give the impression that it's as tight as it can go. You may be under the impression that the rail isn't correctly binding to your original picatinny rail. However, the solution to this problem is to use an appropriate socket set. I found that a T-13 match worked for me. Once you use the socket set to tighten the rail, you'll find that it can turn several more times, resulting in a very secure and sturdy hold. I won't dock points for Burris providing a flimsy tool since most products come with similar, nearly useless tools. It's reasonable to assume that people have basic tools at home. That said, I do wish they had left out the tiny wrench since it seems to be causing confusion and leading people to believe that the product is designed poorly.

I stuck this on a Ruger charger 10/22 pistol to pick the red dot scope up a little, which worked just as it should. I didn't notice until I mounted it that the little vertical slit in the middle of the rail works a little like a small rear sight aperture which isn't bad in good daylight.

I bought these risers almost a year ago to accommodate a 44mm scope on top of an AR-15 rifle with medium height rings. After a couple of thousand rounds now, I have experienced no problems with them working loose or shifting back and forth. I have the risers mounted on a Stag upper currently. A friend that I frequently shoot with has these risers on his Bushmaster AR, he is running a 50mm scope on his rifle, and there is a 1/8inch of clearance to the foregrip. I have absolutely no problem with these risers, and if I were to need a new set on another rifle, I would buy these again.

It is very tight on dpms flattop but will go on if you take screws out and push hard. Excellent addition for Burris AR-P.E.P.R. 1-Piece Extended Scope Mount.

This 1/2 Picatinny riser worked great on my m4. By using the Allen wrench that came with the riser, you can torque the riser down onto the rail very tight. Just be careful placing the Allen wrench into the Allen screw very securely. I have always found Burris products to be above average in quality.

I went with the Burris brand on the picatinny riser even though there were a few cheaper options, not that the cost difference was big, but I wanted a decent brand name to go with. I'm glad I did cause it did precisely what I needed, and the quality of the material and the finish was excellent.

I purchase this Burris Picatinny riser strictly on the meat left in the on tension points compared to other brand options. I also chose based on the recessed heads of the Torx screws. Excellent product. Buy with confidence.

I've installed several different types of risers on various rifles. If you want a simple yet very secure 1/2" riser, this is the one to buy !!! The two torx head screws lock the riser securely into place, and there is no moving. This is very solid and should be able to withstand some heavy recoil.
