Burris Fastfire Mount for 1911

I have a Para Expert 45 and a Colt 1991 Govt 9mm with the standard rear dovetail sight (not LPA or Novak). I bought 2 of the Burris 1911 mounts 410321. Each mount went on in less than 5 minutes including Loctite time. Went to the range, zeroed the red dots and checked the installation. Nothing loosened up or shifted. Have since shot a 2nd time and rechecked with the same result. Great product, easy, fast installation. Locator pins in the plate allow you to remove the red dot and reinstall without losing zero. This mount keeps your red dot as close to the slide as any other I've seen. If you don't want to cut your slide give these a try. I couldn't be happier.

Burris Fastfire Dovetail Mount for Sig P226

Dovetail mount works as described. Did need to have rear sight pushed out by local gunsmith. Was not comfortable with tapping (hammering) our rear sight on my own without doing damage. Tapping rear mount into sight dovetail was relatively easy. I greased the dovetail and carefully put slide into vise with cloth protection. Be careful tapping dovetail mount into place with brass punch. Take it slow and be sure to center mount in dovetail. Once in place mount base for red dot attaches easily. Use blue loctite. On this Sig P226, once the Fastfire III was mounted, I did not have enough "up" elevation range to get the dot where it needed to be. Purchased a delrin shim from UM tactical for $9.95 to solve that problem.
