I was pleasantly surprised by how much better and compact these sights were compared to my expectations. Initially, I had doubts about whether I would like these or not, but once I installed them on my rifle, I was thoroughly impressed. I am now considering purchasing more for my other firearms. Initially, I was hesitant about these sights based solely on their appearance in the product photos and description. However, I am incredibly glad I took the risk and made the purchase. This sight set is fantastic and has the added benefit of not requiring any tools for adjustments when in use at the range or in the field. The locking positions are positive and the profile is incredibly low when folded down. The front sight post appears to be slightly thinner than most standard posts, providing a precise sight picture. I am also impressed with the functionality of the dual aperture. Overall, this is a solid and reliable system. Magpul once again delivers with this exceptional, albeit expensive backup sight. Although the cost may be a bit steep, the moment you hold it in your hands, the quality is palpable. I am extremely fond of these flip-up iron sights. They offer fantastic value for money, are sturdy and well-constructed, and the installation and adjustment process is hassle-free. I am also impressed with their sleek profile. The deployment mechanism may take some time to get used to as they are initially tight, but I still consider these sights to be of the highest quality and give them a full 5-star rating.

I purchased this steel magpul mbus pro set at first, thinking it was expensive. I now know why it cost more than other sights that are made of the less expensive polymer material. It is very sturdy, well made, and has small and large apertures that flip up as well as the whole sight can be flipped down to prevent damage while not in use. I just ordered the Magpul polymer sights and will compare them to this metal sight later. Overall, I think a fine gun deserves a sound-sight system.

This is a real B.U.I.S., a Back-Up IRON Sight as opposed to an anodized aluminum facsimile. The U.S. military's MaTech is made of steel for excellent reason. Steel is far more durable than relatively soft aluminum. Additionally, the folded height of this sight is the lowest of several that I've tried, and this facilitates clearance of the ocular end of an optic. Unlike the U.S. military's sight, Magpul's matching front sight can be easily adjusted for elevation by simply rotating a wheel featuring positive detent clicks as opposed to using a special sight adjustment tool that can be lost. This adjustment wheel is largely covered, so although not entirely impossible, it would seem highly improbably that this adjustment wheel would be accidentally moved. My only complaints would be the absence of a locking mechanism to ensure against the sight being partially or entirely collapsed if struck against something, perhaps when a second is a big deal. On the range, such a locking mechanism doesn't matter much, if at all, but in combat, the absence of this feature could literally translate into a matter of life and death. I would also appreciate a tritium front sight, preferably something that can be flipped up when needed so as to retain the advantages of a thinner post during the day...

I just dressed up the top of a new 5.56 AR15 build with this, plus the matching adjustable rear sight, and so far, I'm impressed. I managed a pretty solid group at 50 yards right off the bat. They fit solid and fold down with a very slim footprint or stand pretty rigid when you prop them up. The only shortcoming is that it's almost impossible to get a sight picture against a black or dark-colored target. I'm now looking into a luminescent tritium post to deal with that...
