I've been using weaver bases on Contender barrels for years and, for the most part, have had no problems with them. With hard kicking calibers such as a 10 inch 44 Mag, it's hard to get the ring tightened enough to keep the ring from slipping on the base. If the ring slips, it will destroy the cross slots. If you are planning to scope a hard kicking Contender, then go with a steel base.

This is a scope mount that has gone "underrated" for years as a cheap way to get a scope mounted. I'm here to tell you that I couldn't believe the precision tolerances these bases have. I didn't think it until I got a scope ring alignment/ lapping tool. It was a real eye-opener for me. These are the only bases I will use on my Contender. Thanks

#92A Fits Rossi rimfire four-hole rounded receiver (is the larger amount shown in the picture). Comes with screws, use some blue Loctite. Remember that this is a weaver rail that fits the more commonly bought rifle scopes. This is not a 3/8" dovetail, which is the standard on air rifles and rimfires. Have yet to sight it in, but there is no reason this should not be a perfectly acceptable rail system.

Have used it on a 7mm TCU pistol, 44 Magnum pistol, and now purchasing another for a 7-30 Waters in a carbine configuration. No shift due to considerable recoil, no deformation even though it is aluminum. Works well. I have a costly all steel base I'm scrapping. I thought if it was 4x more expensive, it must be better. Save yourself the problems aligning your scope. Get this one.
