I own a 1963 Marlin 39A gifted to me by my dad. I previously had a cheap 22 scope with fine crosshairs, so I upgraded to a 1-inch tube scope for more light and better crosshairs. This wider base was ordered for the new scope and it worked great, allowing me to sight in the rifle easily. The installation process is simple - mount the base, then the rings, then the scope. Although the bottom of the base is rounded for some Marlin 39 models with rounded tops, mine has a flat top and the mount still fit without issue.

Finding a base for my Marlin 39 Century Limited (1971) with octagon barrel proved to be a challenge. Even the original Weaver-Marlin chart was incorrect, stating that I needed a 2-piece base with 2 holes each. After some trial and error, I finally found one that fits. I can now scope my firearm! If your Marlin 39 has 2 tap holes 2 inches apart, this base will most likely fit, regardless of model (A, D, M, Century Limited, round or octagon barrel). Best of luck to you!

My Dad bought for me Marlin 39A form 1963. I've had a cheap 22 optic on it most of the time. It was dark and had very fine crosshairs, I needed to put on a better quality 1" scope. I wanted a weaver base for the new scope and ordered this one. It worked great, and I easy to sight in. I mounted the base, then the scope rings, then the optic. The bottom of the mount is rounded as if some Marlin 39 receiver has a rounded top. Mine is flat, but the mount went on with no problems.
