    Trijicon SRO REview

    5 out of 5

In comparison to the standard RMR, the SRO has a much larger lens providing a better sight picture and a top feed battery, solving the RMR's annoyance of needing to remove it to change the battery. In terms of footprint, both SRO and RMR are similar, but the SRO's lens sits farther forward, which can potentially affect holster fit, particularly those with extra retention. It's wise to check your rig's compatibility before purchasing. The SRO's wider lens makes acquiring the red dot from holster or low ready positions easier, which makes shooting a pleasure. Comparing the two, the Gen 1 SRO had durability issues which have been addressed in Gen 2 with a thicker glass and some modifications to the optic body. It might not be as durable as an RMR due to its design, but it's significantly more robust than the original. Even large police departments use SROs without problems. For duty and carry guns, I'd probably still choose the RMR due to its smaller footprint and undeniable durability. However, for competition, range, or instruction guns, the SRO is unrivaled. Its large lens makes it quick to acquire the dot and maintain it in the glass during rapid-fire sequences. So, depending on your needs, both the SRO and RMR can serve you well. While the RMR may be the most versatile, the SRO performs better in some scenarios, demonstrating that there is no one-size-fits-all in the gun industry. If you need a fast, accurate, and durable optic, the SRO could be a great option for you.

only question should be is, which MOA?

I did a lot of research on different red dot sights before ultimately deciding on the Trijicon SRO. I wanted to make sure I was getting the best option for my needs, so I watched numerous YouTube videos comparing different red dot sights and weighing the pros and cons of each one. While the Holosun is a good choice for those on a budget, I was willing to pay a bit more for the SRO and I'm glad I did. One of the things I love about the SRO is its large field of view. I never struggle to find the dot and see the target at the same time. The dot itself looks amber in pictures, but to my eye it appears fairly clear when I'm using it. The SRO also has 8 brightness settings, making it one of the most flexible red dot sights out there. I was torn between the 2.5 MOA and 5.0 MOA models, but I ultimately went with the 2.5 MOA and I'm glad I did. My normal shooting range is within 10-25 meters, and the 2.5 MOA dot is perfect for that distance. Plus, with the 8 brightness settings, I can fine-tune the dot to my liking. I can also use the SRO for longer distances if needed, which the 5.0 MOA wouldn't be able to do as effectively. Overall, using a red dot sight over iron sights has been a game-changer for me. It's almost like cheating, because it allows me to improve my accuracy without having to squint or balance my focus between the target and the iron sights. If technology can help me become a better shooter, I'm all for it.

    A winner from Trijicon

As I'm getting older, my eyes are having more difficulty transitioning between near and far focus points. That's why I decided to mount a red dot sight on my pistol. I've previously trained with iron sights only on my carbines to develop a strong and repeatable grip, and I've been doing the same with my pistol. Even with a high volume of training, I haven't found myself "chasing the dot" with the red dot sight. In fact, using a red dot sight on my secondary firearm has made me faster at acquiring targets when transitioning from carbine to pistol. I can keep my focus on the threat without having to drop my eyes down to the front sight, and it feels more natural every day. All of my carbines now have red dot sights as well.

I replaced the Vortex Venom on my CZ Shadow 2 with this sro trijicon red dot and I love it. My transitions are much better with this optic. the dot s sharp and clear and very bright. I will be replacing the JPoint mini sight on my M&P 9L with one of these as soon as they are back in stock.

    Great red dot sight

I like this red dot sight. Put it on a Glock G45 mos, but fifteen dollars for two small screws for the most popular brand of a handgun in the world goes beyond the pale. I used a grinder and ground the supplied screws to about two threads recessed in the mounting plate with the sight attached and the screws screwed in till just barely touching the sight so that when I mounted the sight plate to the slide, I could torque it to 15 in lbs with no problem. Trijicon has not seen the last of me.

Great view, easy to mount. Very difficult to turn off, though. You need to push both buttons very hard and hold them for four or five seconds.

The window on this is huge, so you never lose the dot. I have an astigmatism and red dots sometimes look more like a slash, but this one is round and crisp to my eyes.

Bought this sro 2.5 moa to use on a new setup for carry optics. Noticed that the dot will be in the upper portion of the sight on a sloppy draw vs having to find it on an RMR.

I replaced my RMR on my G17 MOS, with the SRO due to its much larger viewing window compared to the RMR. Easy installation in the same mounting holes as the RMR and it only took a handful of rounds to have it zeroed. I am very satisfied with its performance.

FIRST TIME OPTICS ON A HANDGUN...WAS ADVISED TO GO WITH THE SMALLER RMR, BUT I WANTED A LARGE FIELD OF VIEW, SO I OPTED FOR THE SRO...GLAD I DID...IT IS NOT OVERSIZED OR BULKY, AND THE FIELD OF VIEW IS JUST WHAT I WANTED...TOTALLY SATISFIED

I highly recommended for anyone looking for a pistol red dot! Great field of view and highest quality! My first Trijicon and won’t be my last. Trijicon does not disappoint in any way. The only complaint was that it had no type of cover. Purchased aftermarket covers

The SRO has the quality and greatness the RMR has, but with the increased field of view and the ability to change batteries without removing the gun's sight. Put it on, sight it in, and forget about it. If you’re on the fence whether to buy an SRO or not, jump off and buy it!
