Customer Ratings & Reviews
I use it on my 40cal shield adds 1 more round. Works well.
I had it on my 9mm shield, which states only for 9mm I have run lots of rounds, threw my 40cal shield adds a nice handle drop. Plus, one more round. Little shorter than competitors. + 2 9mm +1 40cal. The texture could be a little rougher like competitors. But fits and feels well in hand. Clips are the same 9&40 haven't had any feed problems.
Pricey, but 1st class
I only write reviews for stuff I really like. I was on the fence about these; I've never had great faith in mag extension reliability. However, the M&P Shield 9mm uses the same mag spring for the 7 and 8 round mags. So putting this on a 7 round mag is the same internal length and functions just as well as a factory 8 round magazine. No aftermarket springs, no bolt on the backplate, no spacers. Just snap it on like an OEM floorplate. Machining and finish is 1st rate. Gives you the capacity and ergonomics of the extended magazine without that endlessly annoying plastic spacer sleeve. It makes the pistol look great, too. I appreciate that Samson seemed to focus more on quality and reliability than maximum capacity. I trust it and CC it every day. Really a nice product. The only real downside I see is the high cost. Pricey, but In my opinion, worth it.
Best M&P Shield Bagazine Extensions
This goes hand in hand when you need that one extra bullet. But I’ll mention something many do not consider. I pack a magazine holster. With that said, when I go to the range, I fire one magazine, then I grab one from the holster. The ergonomic grip on the extension gives me a great purchase when pulling my magazine from the holster. The finger cuts make it easy if need be to rip out of the pistol or, as I said before, to pick up and put into the pistol. There’s even a front cut which I believe is intended for if you are down or unable to rip a magazine out, you can do so using your pocket or other means. Aesthetically it’s pleasing to the eye, and the coating is premium compared to many other companies. Combined with the magwell it transforms the shield into a more purpose-built firearm. The magazine extension doesn’t work pertrude too far, which means if you have it in your shield and you conceal it, then you will not have any issue. This conceals well.
Comfortable, low-profile M&P SHIELD Magazine Extension
I got two of these about three months ago. They are well built and have a solid fit for magazines. They are comfortable in your hand while shooting. They have a good conservative design and can facilitate one-hand reloads. I am sure these extensions were designed to be used with the compact mag-well where the original sleeve is not needed. One will still need to have the sleeve from the eight-round magazine still to fit the gun. I still needed the shorter seven-round magazine and so did not get the mag-well. Apart from that, I am very happy with the extensions.
