Better than DPMS,
The ATi Castle Nut is an improved version of the DPMS model that I have used before; the design has deeper cuts or deeper castles, which results in a better fit when using a castle nut wrench or multi-tool for tightening. This means less tendency for the wrench to slip and damage the finish on the nut, or dig into the buffer tube or stock tube threads. This feature is especially beneficial for builders and DIY enthusiasts who want to make sure that the build is stable and secure. The finish on the ATi Castle Nut is also superior, with a better-parkerized finish that is resistant to rust and corrosion. After using several DPMS Castle nut in building 7 or 8 ARs, I have decided to only use ATi Castle nut for all my future builds.
Durable but a costs a little more
This Castle Nut is being used on a mil-spec buffer extension tube. This product was less brittle than other castle nuts I purchased from competitors. It is more expensive than others, but I found it to be more durable such that I am confident in the torque applied (approx. 40 ft-lbs) will prevent the nut from loosening under normal conditions; competitor castle nuts were chipping where the lugs of the castle nut wrench fit. It includes indentations for staking, which were also absent from competitor’s products.
Good Castle Nut
Solid black finish, chambered edges for my edge lords that like the curves and it's thicker and wider than other crap quality castle nuts for the same price. Put this next to an American made $20+ nut and you won't tell the difference. I overtorqued it and it didn't bend/nick/scratch even a little.
