Great product...Glock MOS users must read!

While I'm genuinely fond of the Trijicon RMR, the journey to this sentiment wasn't without its challenges. As my introduction to reflex pistol optics, there was a definite learning curve. Initially, I had my sights set on a dual illuminated RMR, but the adjustable brightness of this model swayed my decision. With the RMR, target acquisition and subsequent shots became notably faster. With over two decades of handgun experience, and a recent penchant for Glocks in GSSF events, my collection expanded. A recent acquisition was the G35 MOS, the catalyst for my RMR purchase. The excitement was palpable when I opted for next-day delivery. Yet, disappointment ensued when the RMR screws weren't compatible with the Glock base plates. The workaround? Either hunt down apt screws or purchase the Trijicon RMR kit specially designed for Glock MOS (Part # AC32064). Sadly, I faced a two-week delay, as these kits were universally backordered. A critical piece of advice: always use adequate Loctite when mounting. My RMR's durability was unexpectedly tested when, after about 150 rounds, the mounting screws loosened, and the RMR hit me. Post-incident, the RMR remained unscathed and functional after proper remounting. Neither the packaging nor the product highlighted the necessity of Loctite. If you're contemplating a Glock MOS, ensure it comes with the four requisite MOS mounting plates. There were instances of them being inadvertently omitted in shipments, though Glock readily addresses such oversights. When purchasing mine, I had to carefully choose one among many that actually included these plates. In summation, the RMR stands out in its performance. It would've garnered a higher rating had Trijicon included varied screw lengths or provided clearer guidance on the necessity of the accessory kit for MOS users.

    Handles massive recoil

I initially used this on a Ruger Mark 3 semi-auto handgun. I encountered a hiccup when, after several hundred rounds, the weaver base loosened, causing it to turn off spontaneously. However, once I ensured the mount was secure, the issue didn't resurface. I've since transitioned to using it on a Freedom Arms Model 83 in 454 Casull. This mount, custom-made by Freedom Arms, takes the place of the rear iron sight. To provide perspective on its power, this caliber can propel a 230-grain bullet at speeds 900 fps quicker than a 45 acp. The RMR not only withstands the recoil but also significantly boosts my accuracy at 100 yards. Hitting a 6-inch gong has become routine for me. Participating in competitive shooting, especially with a dueling tree, is now feasible, and it's invaluable for ensuring precision when faced with a threatening animal.

Performs excellently and has an impressive appearance. I've mounted it on my Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm PRO SERIES C.O.R.E and it's flawless. There's been no issue of the dot dimming, turning off, or intensifying during shooting. Addressing some reviews about the dot appearing 'blurry' or pixelated - the focus shouldn't be on the dot. Instead, you should look past the dot towards your target; this will bring the dot into clarity. This characteristic is common in all red dots/holographic sights, regardless of the brand (AIMPOINT, EOTECH, TRIJICON, etc.). Another potential reason could be the overly bright setting of the dot. Currently, after firing approximately 450 rounds with the RMR attached, I've faced zero problems."

This 1x single-plane optic for pistols is excellent. The second-generation RMR outshines its predecessor, Type 1, by being more compact and featuring an enhanced LED system. I first integrated mine with an FN 509, and the streamlined Type 2 RMR is impeccable for daily concealed carry. Its presence is so subtle that you'd only notice it when you need it. I've also added the same RMR to my GEN 5 M45 9mm Glock. The optic is user-friendly, straightforward in its calibration, and effortlessly adjustable in terms of reticle brightness, making it delightful to utilize. Boosting the brightness seemingly enlarges the red dot reticle, while dimming it appears to minimize its size. For service firearms, you might opt for a size larger than 3.25 MOA. However, if you have the 3.25, intensifying its brightness can yield a larger and more luminous dot, ensuring easy visibility upon drawing. For optimal sight picture with the red dot RMR, it's best to use both eyes. Just lower the muzzle as usual to spot the front sight on your target, and your dominant eye will naturally detect the red dot in the optic. Keeping your non-dominant eye open maximizes peripheral vision and depth perception. Simply aim the dot where you intend to shoot and press the trigger. No more juggling between front and rear fixed sights. While the Type 2 RMR has enhanced LED performance, it's wise to equip your pistol with suppressor-height tritium phosphor sights. This way, if the battery ever fails, you can still rely on your fixed sights via the 1x RMR optic. Trijicon's expertise with single-plane optics is evident, especially when the RMR eliminates the need for hold-over within the effective shooting range of 9mm or .45 pistols. For those who, like me, are far-sighted and typically use reading glasses to spot a pistol's front sight, the 1x RMR might render those glasses unnecessary. Even without them, the red dot remains clear, and it's easy to align with the fixed sights should the battery weaken. I've attached photos of silhouette targets I shot from 15 and 75 yards using this RMR on a Gen.5 Glock M45 9mm pistol. This optic has undeniably elevated my shooting skills, offering a thrilling experience on steel targets and producing more precise groupings on paper targets. The Trijicon RMR Type 2 optic comes highly recommended for handguns. It's perfect for daily carry and rugged enough for combat situations. It's a worthy investment.
