OD green buffer tube

I had a difficult time getting the castle nut past the first few threads. I was also using a castle nut with cerakote along with this buffer tube in OD green, so I am unsure if it was the combination of these factors that made it more difficult or just one of the two parts being slightly out of spec. After some hard turning of the castle nut wrench, everything was good to go. The buttstock slid out without an issue.

Purchased this Timber Creek AR Mil-Spec buffer tube along in OD Green along with a Hogue AR-15 collapsible Buttstock as part of an AK-47 furniture rebuild. This tube is a great option for my project. I didn’t experience the threading to be overly tight, as another reviewer mentions. It fit good and snug with no play and a solid feel. None of the six position holes are machined through the tube, as someone else questioned. Overall I’m very satisfied with the buffer tube from Timber Creek.

I was a little hesitant to try this tube-based on some reviews that described a rough inside surface. I purchased this in 2021 and Timber Creek has smoothed the inside of the tube after the coating process, so all I had to do was wipe the cerakote dust out of the tube, and I had a very smooth inside surface. No issues with thread fit on a cerakote receiver. The color matches Magpul FDE. Buttstock fits tube as expected. End of tube is notched for centering over the buffer stop. I would recommend to anyone looking for an FDE mil-spec buffer tube.
