[The description should be updated to include that this mount overhangs the front of the receiver; I would give five stars but product description needs more detail] OK, with that said, this mount is finely machined and finished and I would gladly recommend it. I would say that the primary benefit of this minimalist design is that the height is about 1/8" lower than the factory rail. I favor a low-to-the-bore red dot sight and I compared the factory rail with a Primary Arms micro dot (without removable base) to the MSP short rail with a taller Holosun 503GU (with removable base) and the dot height was the same. I would also note that the rail length was exactly the same as the Holosun giving it a clean, uncluttered look.

Works well with the small site I bought. Good rail to receiver fit. You can see through the rail fine.

The mount is easy to mount onto the Ruger 10/22 but the see through part is a stretch at best. The see through part of the mount is to small. Dont plan on using this to acquire a sight picture with the iron sights, its not practical. the mounting rail works well however.
