It's a barrel band, nothing too fancy about it. It replaced the stock barrel band on my 10/22 Carbine and fitted very well. It provides rails on three sides, which is overkill for me but definitely looks tacticool.

Hear me out: I bought this 10/22 Barrel Band a few years ago to mount a light on a 10/22. It performs that task and is just as sturdy as the newer factory barrel bands. People get on here and complain that it's not made of metal. I hate to break it to you, but Ruger's factory barrel band is plastic now too! This isn't designed to support your bipod. And furthermore, who puts a bipod on a 10/22? It's a lightweight plinking or varmint hunting rifle, and a bipod destroys the point of this lightweight little firearm. Buy yourself a long-range rig, and then consider a bipod on that. Is this thing as good as the old (discontinued) ProMag band? Probably not. Hence why it gets four stars instead of 5, but are people trying to use it for a purpose, it wasn't designed for? You bet. Stick a laser or light on this, and it'll be just as sturdy as the factory band. But don't be a big dummy and think you can put a bipod on this polymer rail, push your body weight against it, and expect it to hold up or not bend. Good product.

The arrangemet idea and fit are great and will work very well, but I'd feel much more secure using it as a sling/bipod mount if it was made steel or aluminum (cast or forged) instead of the nylon/composite material.
