I have converted my Shockwave and the adapter fits perfectly to the stock and pistol grip

I installed this adapter onto my Mossberg 500, and the hardware that came with it threaded up nicely, fitting snugly onto the receiver. I was easily able to thread a UTG folding stock adapter into the Ergo threads and secure it tightly. For the grip, I used an unused AR grip from a Ruger trigger kit, and a take-off DPMS commercial six-position buffer tube, both of which fit nicely. The drop with this adapter is perfect for use with the factory bead sight on the Mossberg. This adapter allowed me to use a grip and buffer tube/stock that I had lying around from other projects. With the UTG folding adapter, I was able to set up my Mossberg 500 with a folding six-position stock for approximately $50 (excluding the take-off parts). A similar set-up purchased outright would cost $150 or more. This is a top-quality and versatile product that allows you to customize your Mossberg with the components of your choice.

As I own a Dickinson Arms 12 GA, which is not as widely recognized as other brands, I needed to find something that could be easily adjusted to fit. On my initial attempt, the adapter seemed to be a good match, but I may purchase another to fine-tune the fit. The buffer tube angle is as expected and looks good. I intend to post a follow-up review, complete with pictures.

Several other reviewers have noted the unique angle of the adapter, which is intentional for two reasons: It permits you to lower your cheek enough on the stock to use the bead sight. When you examine a standard Mossberg 500 shotgun, you'll notice that the stock is considerably lower than the axis of the barrel. When attempting to add AR-pattern furniture to a shotgun, it will not line up properly unless you do this, as the AR stock requires the sight line to be several inches above the barrel. The grip on this adapter will be at a steeper angle than that of a standard pistol grip Mossberg or AR, or the GG&G alternative, to simulate the angle of K2 style PDW grips. This makes it more comfortable to hold the firearm closer to the body with the barrel pointed towards the ground, such as when maneuvering in close quarters. This type of grip is becoming more popular for short-length-of-pull (LOP) setups. The unique angle may seem unusual at first, but it is comfortable to use. However, if you don't require either of these features and will be using a mounted red dot, then you may prefer the pricier GG&G or Mesa Tactical alternatives.

The Ergo grip stock adapter provides an excellent foundation for creating a tactical Mossberg 500. It's a high-quality and cost-effective option for initiating a tactical build. The only drawback is the downward angle at which the adapter sets on the shotgun, which may not be as visually or ergonomically appealing as the Mesa tactical stock adapter. Nonetheless, it is a significantly less expensive alternative and still performs admirably.

The fit and function of the product are impeccable. As someone with large hands, I opted to use a Promag grip, which is more substantial, and I had to remove some of the grip to ensure a snug fit between the stock and grip. Personally, I have never been fond of collapsible stocks on shotguns, so I utilized an A2 buffer tube and an Ace Ltd skeleton stock that I had available. It's a fantastic combination.

Accuracy can be a challenge with the birds head grip on the Shockwave, but with the addition of a pistol grip and brace, you can achieve pinpoint accuracy with slugs. For a more enjoyable shotgun experience, I recommend using 1 3/4 shot shells. I installed this product onto both my Mossberg 12 gauge Serbu and Shockwave.

The adapter for my Mossberg Shockwave is fantastic. It was incredibly easy to install, taking only two minutes, and it fits seamlessly with my SBA4 Pistol Brace. I am eagerly anticipating going to the range now that I have a more stable platform for my Mossie. I highly recommend this as a must-have for the Shockwave if you're planning on adding a pistol stock. The only downside is that if you want to fully field strip your firearm for cleaning, you'll need to remove the adapter to take out the trigger group. However, this shouldn't be a significant issue, just be cautious not to damage the polymer threading. If you take it slow and steady, everything should be fine.

Initially, I had concerns about the angle of the pistol grip and buffer tube extension, but now that I have assembled the firearm, I am pleased with the ergonomics. The cheek weld and sight alignment are both excellent.

Starting off, I deducted one star due to the fact that this adapter alters the cleaning process for your firearm. The grip section covers the crucial trigger mechanism area, which is necessary for field stripping and cleaning. To clean your shotgun after installation, you will need to take out the buffer tube and stock, then remove the adapter and finally, the trigger mechanism. Despite this, the adapter is excellent. It provides greater comfort than the traditional stock and enables you to apply more forward pressure with a pistol grip. Furthermore, the stock can be made shorter than a conventional stock, which is perfect for individuals with shorter arms. You could even store emergency kit items in the empty buffer tube, such as a sewing kit, gun oil, or fire starting kit. This is truly a fantastic piece of hardware.
