Customer Ratings & Reviews
Best Remington 870 stock for the money
Buy it and never look back. I was hesitant to purchase this stock due to the price, but it is worth every penny spent. It is excellent and well thought out. The length of pull adjustment is done very practical and out of the box; it is perfect for me. The single-point sling option that Magpul makes is also another huge bonus. If you want the best furniture for the money, this is it.
870 Magpul stock is fantastic!
Excellent fit and finish. Easy to install. The first time I picked one up it wasn't attached to a shotgun; I wasn't overly impressed. But when you shoulder it after it's installed, night and day difference. Recommend to anyone that wants to enjoy their shotgun more.
Remington 870 magpul stock makes a nice addition
I bought this as a replacement for the factory folding stock on my SPAS-12. After machining an adapter to make the stock geometry match up to the receiver, I have to say that it looks great and handles beautifully. The modern lines and materials match the looks of the shotgun, and the ergonomics make it far superior to the original. Excellent product.
Magpul 870 stock great but too-sticky buttpad, get adapter kit
Magpul's shotgun stock buttpad is sticky and constantly caught on my shirt, sleeve, etc. I highly recommend getting the Magpul adapter and the slick Rem buttpad instead. the stock Magpul #: MAG460-BLK the adapter MagPul #: MAG318-BLK the buttpad Remington #: 19472
The Magpul sga stock had Great Adjustability!
I took a Sentinel Concepts shotgun class this past fall and found my Hogue 'Overmolded' furniture somewhat wanting. The 12" LOP, described as ideal for a fighting shotgun by many, was too short for my 6'3" frame, resulting in the butt getting pulled off my shoulder when using the "push/pull" recoil control technique taught at the class. Also, my head wound up tilting down to reach the comb of the short stock, reducing my peripheral vision. The Magpul SGA stock allows me to get the LOP just right for my needs and, if I so desired, I could also add a cheek riser. That said, calling the LOP right eliminated the cheek position issue, too, so I didn't need to add the riser. The SGA also gives me some sling mounting options that I wouldn't get with most other stocks; the class that I took has convinced me of the utility of a "tactical" 2-point sling on a shotgun if I'm to run a sling at all and this stock will significantly aid in the mounting of such. There really isn't anything about this stock that I've found disagreeable. If you want a genuinely functional stock for your shotgun, then the SGA is my recommendation.
Magpul stock remington 870
Installation was easy. I bought to replace a different famous brand recoil reduction type stock that would punch you in the face pretty hard. This Magpul stock fixed my problem. It is a joy to handle and shoot. I like the just able length, and I ordered the high cheek riser to get eye alignment with EOTech. Nothing bad to say about the Magpul sga stock . It exceeded my expectations and is a million times better than the oNE that bused my lip with a turkey load. Out of fairness, another friend alikes his (another brand) recoil reduction stock, but I think he must not put his cheek on the stock when shooting.
Magpul Quality as expected.
Magpul Quality as expected. I use this Magpul SGA stock on my 870 expresses tactical that I use in my breaching and close quarters classes, and it's been through a lot of, and it's still almost perfect. It will scratch if you use it more then just for range, but it doesn't affect the quality or the ergonomic feel in your hand. The pad makes the recoil feel like it's nothing. When I do go to the range, my girlfriend likes shooting my shotgun more than my AR because of the Magpul SGA stock Remington 870. The extenders are a benefit cause I need 3 with my gorilla arms, so it fits so much better.
Worth the money - Magpul SGA stock Remington 870
The Magpul SGA 870 is a great stock. Much better than my factory wing master stock. Points very naturally very quick to the shoulder. Recoil pad has a very soft texture, so it clings to your clothing very well. It provides a very positive shouldering. Tried a recoil-reducing knoxx stock. It was terrible, like shooting a pogo stick. Bought a cheap M4 style stock. It was just that cheap. Tolerances were loose. Not very comfortable. Installation was very simple. Bought the moe fore grip to go with the stock. Great combo. You will not be disappointed with this Magpul stock.
Magnificent Magpul SGA Stock for 870
I use my Remington 870 12 ga. mostly for trap. The Magpul SGA Stock reduces perceived recoil noticeably. Quick and comfortable to shoulder. Improves gun balance & aim. Appears to have improved my trap scores by 10%. The extra spacers helped me find an optimal/comfortable LOP. This tactical shotgun stock is good for more than tactical use! Worth the money!
Best Remington 870 Stock Option
Other than a lack of folding/collapsing capability, this stock is almost perfect. I assess that Magpul put SIGNIFICANT thought into designing every aspect of this stock, something other companies could learn from. The length of pull is adjustable with the addition of stock spacers, but I find the default short length of pull (12.5") to be about perfect for my build (5'7", 195lbs), without body armor/LBV. I think they should have designed the minimum length of pull at 12", which would have been even better for my build with body armor/LBV. The default cheek height is perfect for bead sights. If you use higher profile sights, you can easily purchase and install a cheekpiece of greater height. The rubber recoil pad is EXTREMELY soft and much helps in reducing felt recoil. The build quality seems very high. It doesn't seem to be made of the same cheap plastics used by less expensive stocks. You will love this stock equally whether you are right or left-handed, for it is entirely ambidextrous in sling-mounting options. You can use the fixed loops, QD points, or (not included) install a Magpul snap link-type sling mount. The grip section is exceptionally comfortable for my small-to-average hands. It's well-rounded and not bulky (unlike the Mesa Tactical Urbino stock I tried out on my friend's M4 shotgun, which had uncomfortably squarish edges). The stock is a straightforward install and remove - one does not even need to remove the buttpad to access the stock bolt. I like the Flat Dark Earth color; it goes very well with the black receiver and barrel. So yes, it doesn't fold or collapse. But you know what? It *also* doesn't have any wobble when shouldered, which is something I've encountered with nearly every 870 folding/collapsible stock I've ever used (Butler Creek's steel side folder was particularly bad in this regard). I think the stock is well worth the money, and if if you don't have a * pressing* need for a collapsible or folding stock on your Remington 870 (and let's be honest, most of us probably don't), then the Magpul SGA stock is possibly the best option for you.
Magpul SGA Stock for Remington 870 is Outstanding
Quick and easy install. Superb ergonomics, I am 6'3," and with the included spacers, it was easy to get a perfect LOP setup. The felt recoil is significantly less than the OEM stock and is probably attributed to improved pistol grip angle, higher comb, and better recoil pad. 3" magnum loads do not rock my clock anymore, and follow up shots are a lot quicker. Ideal upgrade when using iron sights, you may want to consider using the optional comb risers for optical sights.
Quality 870 stock
Magpul has a quality Remington 870 stock. In less than ten minutes, I had the Magpul SGA installed with the supplied tools. I'd suggest test starting the bolt into the receiver before attaching the stock, and then make sure the capital (with spacer or sling mount) is straightened and flush to the rear of the receiver as you start the bolt that secures the stock to the receiver.
