    comfy, durable, inexpensive

My 1980's plain-jane Ruger MK II needed new grips, and these made a good, inexpensive upgrade over the checkered black plastic originals. These Ergo grips cover much more of the frame, coming almost to the edges (there is an MK III mag button cutout), and the subtle, ambidextrous thumb shelf makes for a big comfort upgrade. They are wider and fill out the hand more, which may not be as controllable for very small hands. It's also nice having a flexible material that the screws tighten against gradually; it feels like it will retain the screws much better. I would like one improvement: a slightly rougher texture and/or a grippier material. These grips have decent friction against my hand, but not as much as the original grip's checkering. It's just a .22, of course, and it's comfortable and controllable to shoot with these grips. However, I think sweaty hands or wet conditions would benefit from a rougher grit texture, approaching that of medium checkering. A more rubbery textured material (like Hogue or Pachmayr) would help, but I do like that these feel more durable than the stuff made with softer material.

I had an old 80's Ruger in stainless with the tapered barrel that I didn't shoot much and wanted to get into steel challenge shooting. After buying a Tactical Solutions Pac Lite barrel, a C-more sight Tac Sol Picatinny rail etc. I was low on cash. I wanted the Tac Sol aluminum grips in blue to match the rest of the build but couldn't justify the cost at that time. These grips were an excellent low-cost alternative till I could scrap the $90.00 for the Tactical Solution grips. They fit and feel so lovely. I still have them on to this day.

These grips fit the gun well and feel good. They are much more solid than the OEM grip. They do have the cutout for the Mark 3 magazine release, so they look a bit odd on a Mark 2.

Fits my mark 3 perfectly. No modifications needed and installed in minutes. Only wish it was a little more comfortable grip wise but it works great nonetheless.

I got my Ruger used from an estate. It had a perfect set of Volquartsen target grips on it. However, I wanted to use the Ruger for teaching cadets, and obviously, their hands are much smaller than mine. I wanted something simple and inexpensive to use for training.
