DPM Recoil Reduction System for Springfield XD/HS 2000 Service model 4" 9mm 40s&w
The DPM Mechanical Recoil Reduction System is a direct replacement for the stock recoil rod and does not change the configuration of the pistol. As always, DPM products are designed and developed with user’s safety as a priority. Exceptional manufacturing and engineering using high-end materials.
*B.O.S.S: Black Oxide Stainless Steel its an innovative coating technology applied usualy on the visible parts of the recoil system.
This system works due to the multi spring intricate rod (three springs) and controls the functionality of the pistol. The third spring which is contained within the rod controls the movement of the slide so it never rams on the frame.
The system includes 1 washer and 2 different external springs.
The washer must always be installed when the DPM Recoil Rod and springs are used.
The external springs are different in length, the long spring is heavy and the short is light so the shooter can fine tune the pistol on the opening and locking positions (slide on the battery) according to his/hers personal standards.

- Total Force slide full open position: 10.8 kgs / 24 lbs
Slide on the battery:
- Short Spring: 4.53 kgs / 10 lbs
- Long Spring: 4.98 kgs / 11 lbs

Taming the XD9 recoil

I had always found the SA XD9 to have a snappy recoil. Every other round, I found myself having to adjust my grip on the pistol. The DPM recoil reduction system definitely helped tame this powerful recoil. I can now keep my original grip all throughout a string of fire. The downside is that the effort to rack the firearm (which was always pretty stiff) has proportionally become much more difficult. I would definitely recommend considering a racking assist device to be paired with this purchase. Bottom line; it has improved my groupings for a string of fire.
