5.0 out of 5 stars I would highly recommend this product to any M1A enthusiast

The quality of craftsmanship of this product is unparalleled! I was thoroughly impressed with every aspect of it. Installing it onto my New Loaded Springfield M1A was a breeze, and the clear instructions, along with a measuring gauge, ensured a proper fit. During my first range visit with the mount, the shells ejected seamlessly with no interference. As a result, I highly recommend this product to anyone, whether they are a seasoned M1A enthusiast or a beginner looking for a high-quality scope mount.

The design of this mount is impressive as it holds zero even after being thrown around in a range bag and rolling around in the trunk for over a thousand rounds. However, a GOOD set of roll pin punches (5/32 in size) is required to get the roll pin out of the dovetail in front of the rear sight aperture, which is the most challenging part of installing this mount. The remaining steps are straightforward, requiring the supplied locktite to be applied, and the torque to be set to the specifications in the instructions. The ability to still shoot iron sights beneath the rail is also fantastic. Although I eventually replaced the mount with a Troy Battle Rail to have more options (such as an Aimpoint PRO, scout scope, Nikon P308 with a Larue Tactical QD 1" scope mount), this decision had nothing to do with the quality of this mount. It's a great option if you are solely looking to mount a scope!

I've experimented with several other scope mounts before, but none of them stayed in place, which led me to remove them. The Sadlak steel mount, however, is incredibly solid and reliable. Although the written directions were a bit challenging to follow, I found the installation video on the Sadlak website to be very helpful. I followed it step-by-step, and had no trouble installing it onto my Springfield Armory M1A. It's worth noting that Sadlak requires a USGI receiver for the mount to fit correctly. However, they do offer a customization service for non-compliant receivers.

I recently purchased and installed the steel version of the Sedlak M1A scope on my Loaded stainless Springfield. While I initially considered buying the discounted SA product, the cost of the SA steel mount. After doing some research and several M1 blogs, I felt confident that I made the right choice with the Sedlak. I was initially worried about the installation, and was concerned that it might require machining to adjust the fit, but to my delight, the mount fit perfectly and was installed within 30 minutes. The package includes the mount, allen wrenches, Locktite, and detailed instructions, and there are also online videos available on You Tube to guide you through the process. The installation is simple and requires only basic tools, such as a box or socket wrench (1/2"), a 3/32 punch, and a mallet. The design of the Sedlak mount is solid and well-built. It sits slightly higher than mounting on the frame, so low-profile mount rings may be necessary. However, I can use it without any cheek riser on the walnut stock. After firing 50 rounds, the mount held a perfect zero line and appeared to be an integral part of the frame. I am very pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend it as the standard for M1A scope mounts. The steel matches the frame perfectly, giving it a factory-assembled look. While the Sedlak may be more expensive than other designs, it offers peace of mind and is worth the price for its durability and reliability.

    Sadlak M1A scope mount

I purchased this Sadlakscope mount for my M1A. It is fairly easy to install if you have the right tools and follow the instructions. However, on occasion, when you fire a round or two, the empty caseing bounces off the bottom of the scope mount back down into the chamber, thus creating a problem. I do not know how to eliminate this problem, other than buying a gen.4 Springfield mount...

I like this mount. It sits about ΒΌ inch lower than the Springfield Armory. Neither mount fits my M1A receiver perfectly but I can send the mount back to Sadlak and the can modify the mount to improve the fit (they make their mount for GI spec receivers and recognize that most after market receivers are close, but not quite spec). I like that they offer this service. I also like the mounting method a little better.

As solid of a mount as you can get in my opinion. Have several and would use more without thinking about it. Buy once, cry once...

This style of mount came highly recommended by a buddy of mine that was a sniper in the military, and I can see why. Instructions were alittle intense for someone with little experience with this critical of a mount installation. Don't misunderstand... I highly recomend this mount and would do it again. I have the scope roughed in and have not had a chance to finish sighting the scope in, but hope to do so soon. If its not right, it will be my fault... not the mount's.

I have used a few scope mounts for M1A type rifles. This is the best mount I have found. Two of our rifles have Sadlaks on them. Well worth the cost.
