Excellent Winchester 70 trigger
Excellent product! I had considered a Jewell, but too pricey. I put it on a newer Stainless M70. in 30 minutes, had it in, and adjusted it to very crisp two #. The over-travel & creep adjustments make all the difference in the world. The stock trigger was impossible to get in that range without it going off on closing the bolt fast. I was starting to flinch with mine.338 Win Mag & put this in last week. Killed 9/9 whitetails, including a 320 yard shot since installing. The only thing I was surprised at was it is pictured as stainless & others reviewed it as stainless. Mine came in blue, but not really a big issue with this & actually looks good. Also, FYI it comes with all adjustment screws & nuts, but you reuse the original spring.
Bought 2 of these triggers for Model 70s.
Bought 2 of these triggers for Model 70s. Both trigger holes had to be drilled to fit the stock pin. Instructions could have been a little more detailed as well—good triggers, crisp, and easy to set up but not drop in.
The Easiest Winchester model 70 trigger upgrade
Easiest thing I've done so far. It took little skill to install and less than 15 minutes. Directions included are precise—excellent trigger for my Super Shadow. Trigger pull adjusted from over 10 pounds (Factory) to just over 1 pound with RB trigger. Overall travel adjusted to near nothing. Excellent improvement for Winchester Model 70. Great Purchase.
This is a great aftermarket Winchester triggers
This is a great aftermarket product for the price. I could not get the stock trigger on my model 70 coyote 22-250, much below 3 lbs, or it went off upon closing the bolt. The rifle Basix trigger is a snap to install. Anybody can do it. It is much more adjustable than the stock trigger, having adjustments for the weight of pull, over-travel, and sear engagement. As I was completing the install, I put a bit of tension on the spring. The gun cocked good the trigger was slick to pull and was safe when the safety was on. I checked the pull weight, and I had it at 1 lb. Wow, was I amazed? I didn't leave it there but could have. I'm very impressed and plan to try one on one of my Remington 700s.
I installed this trigger
I installed this trigger on a model 70 super shadow with a miserable 9 1/2 pound trigger pull with a little creep. It is simple to install. However, the directions could be a little more precise, they tell you enough to get the job done. My model 70 now has a crisp, clean 2-pound pull, and I would not ask for any improvements. I would recommend this quality product to anyone.
Best Winchester model 70 trigger
The trigger pull on a model 70 Black Shadow came stock at over 10 lbs. Research showed that the Rifle Basix trigger was not only the least expensive replacement but used the stock sear. This means no gunsmithing to the safety. It took me about 10 minutes to install, plus about 30 fiddlings with the adjustments, to get it as I wanted. Results are a crisp, safe, 2 1/2 lb pull with the stock spring. The gun is far more pleasant to shoot, and I'm more accurate with it.
Rifle Basix Winchester replacement triggers
The Rifle Basix trigger solved the problem with a hard pull on a pre-64 Model 70 Win. It was easily adjusted to the 3 pounds I like. There is no creep, just nice and crisp. The time to install was about an hour. That included milling the trigger guard to accept the wide trigger. I called the help desk and got quick and excellent service. It made the install much faster and improved the quality of my work. They even explained some improvements that are being made to the Model 70 triggers for the future. It is not difficult to install this trigger, and I am certainly no gunsmith. I highly recommend this trigger.
