What people are saying about the Vortex Venom Red Dot Sight

Great Red Dot sight!

This was the first red dot sight I've purchased for a handgun. I did so after much research and recommendations from friends. It was easily installed, and sighting in was done within an hour at the range. I like the fact that the battery is accessible without removing it from the gun, the three moa dot is plenty bright in any lighting situation, and the dot doesn't obscure the target well downrange.

Excellent value and a reasonable price.

I've had many problems with being able o see the dot on value-priced reflex sights when used on a pistol in full sun. The Vortex Venom red dot has no such problem. The sight is accurate in use and adjustment and is priced where the average person can put it on seldom used guns without feeling the price wrong about its price.

Love It!

Kicked around the idea of a less expensive red dot and glad I didn't. You get what you pay for, and this is no exception. Secure mount to a CZ Scorpion Carbine. It can mount it almost anywhere on the rail. Removed rear iron sight cause I don't see me needing them for plinking — Co-Witness's like a champ on top of the front sight post. Lots of MOA to play with on elevation and windage.

Cat the Traveler

I love Vortex!!!!

This Vortex Venom excellent red dot sight. I own several other red dots, as well as a riflescope, and know what to expect from the folks at Vortex; Quality and well-made products. I installed the Venom on my Ruger Mark IV Hunter, and as a result, I love Hunter Mark IV even more. Extremely satisfied with my Vortex Venom.

Almost great

It seems to be a nicely made, reliable little unit. As others have noted, I'd be happier with click adjustments. One thing, though, is this is the first red dot that made it apparent I have astigmatism in my dominant eye! Other red dots I had some fuzziness with that eye that seemed to be my less than perfect vision, but this one had a definite grapeshot effect. For pistol use with both eyes open, this doesn't seem to be a significant problem for tactical accuracy, and for rifle use, it wouldn't be an issue since it's not my "rifle eye." I'd strongly consider again, but may check other options like FastFire and see if it exposes astigmatism.

The Vortex Venom micro 6 MOA reflex sight is just the right size. If you're looking for a micro reflex sight, look no further. I feel the 6MOA dot is the perfect size for shorter(10-50 yards) distances. Vortex quality (this is my third Vortex product) and the lifetime no questions asked warranty make it a perfect choice. Easy battery access, easy to mount, and easy to zero along with holding zero entirely even under heavy recoil makes it an excellent product. Vortex quality and warranty and MIDWAY USA's great pricing and shipping make it a no brainer!

Great value in this style optic

I mounted this using an egw red dot mount on a Ruger SR1911 Commander in 9mm. Fits perfectly, the dot is bright, not too big for precise shots, but easy to pick-up and follow in rapid firing (plate racks, etc.} Auto-off feature is nice. Small, compact, and lightweight, I would recommend this sight without hesitation.

Good sight in specific use cases.

I have three of these, and they are right in each case, I don't acquire the dot as quickly as I would wish on my bulls-eye competition pistols, but it allows me to keep tight groups with either a Ruger Mark 3 or my Chiappa 38/357. The third is mounted on a 10/22 and has tightened my groups up significantly. I would not mount one of these on the slide of a pistol, although it may be strong enough to withstand the shock.
