Nightforce NXS 2.5-10 x 42 COMPACT
THE BIGGEST, BADDEST LITTLE SCOPE ON THE MARKET.
There are only two ways we could improve upon the Nightforce NXS 2.5-10 x 32 Compact…one of our most popular, most proven Rifle Scopes. One way is by increasing the size of the objective lens to 42mm, making it even more effective in low light. The other way is by adding new technology, additional features, and more options. Nightforce has done that, too. The result is a riflescope of streamlined proportions, minimal weight, and performance far beyond its size. Actually, beyond most Rifle Scopes of any size.
Features and Benefits of the Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x42 Compact:
- Optimal low-light performance thanks to larger 42mm objective
- Side parallax adjustment
- Power Throw Lever for instant magnification change
- Night vision compatible settings
- Great for Hog and Predator Hunting
Optimal low-light performance
42mm objective maximizes light transmission without compromising overall lightweight and compact profile.
Side parallax adjustment
One of the only 10x Rifle Scopes on the market with adjustable parallax— from 25 yards to infinity.
Power Throw Lever (PTL™)
Instant magnification changes in a fraction of a second, even if you’re wearing gloves. Your riflescope arrives with aflush insert, which you can easily replace with the threaded PTL™ knob. Like so many Nightforce features, the PTL™ is included on our Compacts at no extra cost.

Customer Ratings & Reviews
Rock Solid, Out To 1,000 Yards
Use the Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x42 Compact on my lightweight SIG SSG bolt gun. Mag range perfect for close-in and out to 1,000 yards. Reliable, repeatable and backed by the incredible Nightfall warranty. 1,000 yards and in, 10x does the trick. I use all Nightforce scopes, but this hands down just as useful as my big ATACR series.
One awesome scope.
Awesome scope. Was on a mountain hunting trip in MT. Banged it against the rocks twice and even fully submerged it when I fell in the creek. Dialed it up to make a 420 yard shot on a mule deer and dropped it. Scope never lost its zero or clarity after getting used and abused. Awesome product.
Well, this is my six Nightforce Scope. Ranging from SHV to the ATACR. The Nightforce NXS Compact is the smallest and lightest by far. I use this scope for target shooting as well as hunting. Crystal clear image love the parallax being added to this model. Perfect scope for AT pattern rifle. It doesn't feel heavy or throw the balance off at all. Very quick handling and target acquisition. Zerostop is great a must with this scope. I have dialed out to 600 yards and back No problem. YOU WILL BE HAPPY...
Outstanding hunting scope
I purchased this NXS 2.5-10×42 compact scope after initially mounting a Minox scope on my Remington 7mm-08. This is a much more comfortable scope to use. Stays adjusted and love the zero stop and reticle illumination. Crystal clear image even in very low light. Nice low profile and reasonable weight considering the quality of the tube and glass. Not a cheap scope, but not the most expensive. Well worth the money.
Nightforce scopes have no equal
I got the IHR reticle for hunting use, and I could not be any happier. Reticle lines are simple, crisp, and clean for quick and precise target acquisition. If concerned with the illumination solely on the crosshairs, don't be. I have looked through other "wholly illuminated" reticles, and I prefer this as it doesn't "hide" your target with additional illumination. A zero stop is a fantastic feature. Just put one in your hand to see the difference; they are built solid and perform flawlessly. Worth every cent!!
I have several scopes in this category from the usual top end manufacturers, including other NFs....expensive yes, but in NF case you get what you pay for. Optics have incredible clarity, and the 30mm tube is very rugged. Turrets click decisively and track incredibly well. I prefer the MOA/MOA system with the MOAR reticle as its easier to translate for drop/vs. range. I held out for the new NF compact as 1) it has the side focus adjustment which makes it easy to keep the crosshairs steady as you make final adjustments and 2) the 10x power is suited to longer shots and tighter groups on paper for either .223 or .308 load testing. Illuminated reticle takes a little getting used to, but I like the green or red selection depending on the color of the backdrop....if only it was tritium instead of battery powered.
